4 Define the Types of Hadis (Classification of Aha'adees) - Sahih is made up from trustworthy
reporters and doesn't have irregularities.It has a continious isnad. Hasan one with an isnad
containing a reporter who is mastur. It is reported from different narratives. Daif is a hadith
which fails to reach the status of Hasan. It means there is a weakness in the insad. He must have
told lies, and made mistakes. Maudu is the text that goes against the Prophets saying.
5 Collection Process & Procedure of Aha'adees during Prophets life and after Prophets Death THe first stage was related to the Prophet, the second was the period of the Sahaba, the
companions of the prophet. THe third was the period of the Tabi'un, the disciples of the
companions.. THe fourth stage is Taba Tabiun, the disciples of the disciples. After the Prophet's
death people were more keen to know the hadiths that had been stored in memories and people
wanted to learn and follow the traditions.
6 Imam al-Bukhaari wrote Sahih al-Bukhari . His grandfather was a freed slave and Imam
Bukhaari changed his name after being a muslim . He was born on 19 JUly 810 AD. He died at
the age of 62. Imam Muslim wrote the Sahih muslim. He was born in Nisapoor and was a great
scholar. He was born in 204 Ad. It took 15 years for him to finish. Imam Abu Dawood wrote AL
Sunan. He was born in 202 Ah. He traveled a lot. He was known for his righteousness and piety.
Imam al-Tirmidhi wrote Al Jaami. He was a great memorizer and a famous scholar. He died at
the age of 70. Imam al-Nasaai wrote AL Jahrwal tadeel. He was pious, he used to fast. He lived
in Egypt and he died at the age of 85. Imam Ibn Maajah wrote Al Sunan. He was a famous
hafiz.He died at the age of 84. He was born in Quzwayn.
Use of Aha'adees in legal thinking- The Quran is first source and Hadith is the second source of
Islamic law. They are no questions for the teachings. Where Quranic teachings. The Ahadith fill
out the Quran and add teachings where it is silent. Quran and Hadith are primary sources of
Islamic law.
