Hi all.
What is the difference between transistor and relay outputs of LOGO! PLC.
in what application you use trans. and when use relay outputs?

Hello,
in short:
A transistor output can switch max. 0.3A, a relais output can switch up to 10A.
That's the biggest difference.
So you can say you use transistor output for small loads 24V (or 12) and you use
relais outputs for heavy loads or loads wich must be swiched potential free.
you can have a look at the logo Manual
For more technical details.

Ok...
So I can use transistor outputs to control relay coil (A1,A2), or directly use PLC with
relay outputs.

Yes, if you have (smal) relaiscoils working on the same voltage als your LOGO!, its
24VDC, then you can do it.
Relaisoutputs have free kontakts, so you can use them on every voltage between 3
and 250V AC or DC.
Transistoroutputs make no noise, and have no moving parts.
So if an output frekwently must go on and of then its better to use transistor-outputs.
A relaisoutput make always a (soft) click when is going on or going off

Hello,
Yes that's right, personaly i never use the relais version, i prefer to use external
relais.
It'seasyer to replace a small interface relais then to replace a Logo or the relais in
the Logo.
If you have not mutch space to build inthe Logo the relais version can be an
option.

Hi,
About your question, you must also consider to use transistor outputs when you
have to switch at a hight frequency rate, normally above what a relay can resist.
Transistor Output is a solid state configuration which can work at a fast rate. Relays
are more electromechanical so they are slow. If you need to drive more current with
the transistor output, you can always use a solid state relay.
Also the transistor output depending on the max frequency rate can be used to drive
a servo or step motor. Depending on PLC family you can get different values.

Relays on 12/24RC unit are rated @ 10Amps, but there is no specification at what
Voltage ?
I assume 24 V max @10A

Or it can handle AC voltage too ? If yes what are specification for 230V ? max A ?
There is no that spec in manual.
tnx !

Hello,
It's in the manual, but maybe not that clear.
The specs off the relais is the same as for the 230V version.
The Max load depends on the type of load.
Attached you find the specs.

Marcjan , thanks !
So there is no worries to connect coil of contactor to 220v
thanks again
