Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the online reservation
system of the employees and guests of Microtel Luisita Tarlac. Based on
the descriptive analysis of data, the results shows that, Accuracy, Security,
Authentication and Immediate retrieval and storage of information gave a
satisfaction rating on the part of employees and guests. Scale Value and
Descriptive Rating of Satisfaction Level of the Employees and guests,
security and accuracy gives a satisfied description, authentication gives
very satisfied description also Immediate retrieval and storage of
information give also a very satisfied description Most of the respondents
agreed that using an online reservation system will help the selected hotel
on their business. It means that online reservation system is worth to use
passed and accept.

Introduction and Review of Related Literature


Online Hotel Reservation System is the process of an efficient way of booking
reservations through online or telephone calls. A Hotel has a certain standard procedure in
which the Front desk is the one who is assigned to book the future reservations. The Hotel
requires the guest/s who is about to book a reservation for his/ her personal details like first
and last name, location, contact number and e-mail address for the details and updates about
the reservations. The Front Desk is the one who is responsible to gather the information for
the walk in customers and also for the check in and check out of the guests.
Nowadays, online reservations for a hotel rooms are becoming popular especially to
those who like to travel mostly because of how the customer can just easily browse from site
to site and choose an event or book a room with his/her date with the time preferred with just
one click, this saves them time, energy and hassle. Online reservation transactions are faster,
reliable and the customer will just simply fill the information needed for choosing the event,
date and time of the check in or check out and then send it to the company. Through this the
customer and the company can easily coordinate with the Hotel in a more flexible manner,
thus making the information more accurate. And since it is an online based system this will
help the customer to free access the website with its 24 hours availability in and out of the
Country.

Objective of the Study
To develop a system that will help the users and customers consume lesser time, effort
and hassle while booking for a reservations and to determine the development of the security
of the Online Reservation System that will help the employees with the use of the newly
developed system.
Statement of the Problem
This study will describe the Online Reservation System for Microtel Luisita, San
Miguel Tarlac City.
Specifically, it will answer the following questions:
1. What are the business demographic profile of the Microtel Luisita in terms of:

Conceptual Framework
Online based system also gives benefits on diminishing double booking accidents
since the customer have a full access on viewing each rooms and availability.
In addition, viewing of rates and the total amount of reservation will also be available
for them to view. Having an online based system will help the company to be more organized
and with this they can easily handle any changes they might need.

Significance of the Study


With the use of online reservation system created by the proponents, this will help the
company in updating and improving their current system. The company will have their own
website with the user-friendly interface wherein customers can easily book a room or plan an
event through online giving them a more easy way and hassle free reservation.
Since their records are only kept in filing cabinets it can easily be accessed by any
staff in the company, the online system will feature a registration and security module.
This registration module will allow every level of access to register to the system
administrators and customers. The adding of new customers in the database will be done by
filing up an application form which will be recorded to the database and the proposed system
will automatically generate an ID number that will also serve as proof that they are a
registered user.
Scope and Limitation

This study encompasses only the development and the implementation of an Online
Reservation System which secures a reliable information of the guest, room availability,
check-in and check-out.
Microtel Luisita still uses a manual procedure in keeping records of their clients past,
current and upcoming reservation of event and rooms. In making a reservation the client must
fill-up some forms such as waiver/ gate pass and the reservation form before proceeding to the
cashier for payment. This type of process best applies to walk-in customers only since they
have the privilege of looking around the rooms and facilities. As for phone call reservation,
same process applies but it takes more time because of too many inquiries and question, and
because it is not a face-to-face transaction error is inevitable.
In terms of security, the proposed system will include a log-in form. This will have
two (2) levels of access. The first will be the administrator of the system and the customer for
the second level of access. The authorized users will have a unique username and password,
at least six to twelve (6-12) characters long and case sensitive.
Proposed System Featured

Data Base is a collection of data that is organized so that its content can easily be
accessed, managed and updated.

Back-up is the activity of copying files or data bases so that they will be
preserved in case of equipment failure.

This module is the entry point of the user interface, it also displays information about
the hotel and it provides a list of all other module included in the system.

Reservation

In this module the user will have the ability to manage and choose the rooms they
need and will allow them to set the future date and time depending on its availability. In
addition to that they can also make a reservation for a certain type of events and add any
additional services that they might need providing that there must be at least a minimum of
three (3) days interval before the exact date of the reservation.

When reserving for a room the client must fill-up a form provided within the site,
he/she must indicate the date of the reservation (future date and time of check-in as well as
the date and time of possible check-out) And he/ she will be able to see the available rooms.

After submitting the form a notification message will be sent to the email address of
the client confirming that the reservation is successfully made, the notification will include
details about the reservation, its total amount, and the deadline of the reservation.
Fifty percent (50%) of the total amount must be deposited to the bank account of the
hotel for the down-payment before the deadline of the reservation for its assurance, and the
other fifty percent (50%) can be paid on the exact date of the event. Once the down-payment
is received by the company, another notification message will be sent including the

reservation ID of the clients, the details of the reservation, the total amount paid and the
balance of the client. This will also serve as a gate pass for the clients when they came-in to
the hotel.
Cancelation of any reservation can be made a day before the target date, no refunds for
the clients who already deposited their down-payment.

Log-In

This module will provide a security for authorized users. The proposed system will
include a log-in form. This will have two (2) levels of access. The first will be the
Administrator of the system and the Front Office for the second level of access. The
authorized users will have a unique username and password, for at least six to twelve (6-12)
characters long and case sensitive.

Security

The log-in module is the registered user way of gaining access to the additional
content of the website and not available to unregistered guest.

Monitoring

This module will display an overview of the system, the administrator is the only
authorized person to view and manipulate the content of this module.
It consists of the following informations.
-Room
-Room Types & Rates
-Reservation

-Reports
-Users
-Log-In/ Log-Out

Reports

This module displays all the past, present and upcoming reservations/ events held in
the hotel which can be viewed in a month or week display. This will also generate a report
about reservations/ events that has been cancelled either by the client or terminated by the
system and what type of event packages is usually availed by their clients.
File Maintenance

This module will allow the administrator to edit, update and add new offers to their
system, updating of account user is also included.

Methodology
Research Design
The descriptive survey method that the researchers used in this study provides
questionairres that describes the different level of satisfaction. This study aims to discuss the
level of satisfaction of the employees and guests in the selected hotel the Microtel Luisita
Tarlac City along the following; accuracy, security, authentication, immediate retrieval and
storage of information.
Participants of the Study
The respondents of this study were the Microtel Luisita Tarlac employees and guest.
Research Instrument
The main instrument used in this study were set of questionnaires given to the
employees and guests of the selected hotel. It will determine their level of satisfaction along
the following; accuracy, security, authentication and immediate retrieval and storage of

information with the descriptive ratings, thus 3 Very Satisfied, 2 Satisfied and 1 Dissatisfied.

The researchers used unstructured interview, this strategy is used in order to gather
information needed on their questionnaire. The information held by the respondents in a
formal way are used to make the interpretation of data more effective.
Data Gathering Procedure
The researchers will prepare a letter address from their college dean to the
management of the selected hotel the Microtel Tarlac. They will ask permission through the
approval / request letter came from the college dean.
After collecting the needed permissions, the researchers will personally begin the
distribution of the questionnaires to their respondents at the given time and to accomplish the
questionnaires, the researchers will wait on the selected hotel to retrieve the questionnaires.
Results
It present the results, conclusions and recommendations in the study.

A careful analysis of the data reflected in the Table 2 shows the position of the
respondents, majority of the respondents are (7) or 70% are the guests; Employess are three
(3) or 30% respectively.
Therefore this is a clear indication and pro of that majority of the respondents are the
guests. The rating of seven (7) or 70% clearly indicates that the Microtel Luisita is
consistently clean, safe and has a secured accommodations resulting our valued customers to
keep on coming back.

A careful analysis of the data reflected in the Table 4 shows the customers and guests
respondents majority of the respondents are four (4) or 40 % are the guests; customers are
three (3) or 30 % respectively.
Therefore this is a clear indication and proof that majority of the respondents are
guests. The rating of four (4) or 40 % clearly indicates that the selected hotel is consistently
clean, safe and has a secured accommodations resulting our valued customers to keep on
coming back.

Conclusion
The system was mainly designed to reduce the manual work on booking for a
reservation, updating and also to give a higher security when it comes to the personal details
of the customers. It also gives an accurate reports, updates and keeps records accordingly.
Online Reservation System increases the security and confidentiality of each files and reports
by providing a security module. The system analyst is the one to strategize on how the
proposed system would work, and what functions are needed to service the user of the system.
Recommendation
This system will discuss the most efficient and effective way on booking for a
reservation. It can save you time while booking, less hassle and it can be easily accessed
anywhere at any time. Thus, we recommend to use this newly designed system for Online
Reservation which is designed to minimize the manual work of the employees through
reservations. With this, we guarantee that all of the personal information of the customers,
guests and clients will be safely kept in a more secured way and all of the information that are

currently stored with filling cabinets will be transferred to the data based system that will be
confidentially saved in the computer. Therefore, the proposed Online Reservation System is
worth using for.
