Course Overview
The objective of this course is to broaden geometric knowledge gained in middle school and
formalize fundamental Geometric Theorems. The course will focus on four critical areas:
establish criteria for congruence of triangles based on rigid motions; establish criteria for
similarity of triangles on dilations and proportional reasoning; apply the Pythagorean Theorem
to the coordinate plane; and prove basic geometric theorems. All in all, student will work on
complex geometric problems and mathematical proofs.

Classroom Guidelines

Academic integrity: Any student caught copying homework or cheating on an exam will be given a zero for that
assignment. Furthermore, academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary referral and grade reduction.
Readiness: Always come prepared to class with textbook and necessary materials. If you dont come with a dry
erase marker you will need to purchase one from the instructor.
Class will start on time; each class will begin with a Kahoot/Google sheet question. Group work and
participation work cannot be made up.
Restroom policy: may use restroom at your discretion. Please make sure to ask using appropriate hand signal (sign
language sign for restroom) and dont disrupt the lecture.
o Note: if while in the restroom a Kahoot/Google Sheet question is asked, then student will not receive
credit. Similar results will occur when using the restroom during group work.
All assignment must have proper heading:
Top right hand corner: name, class id #, and date.
Top left hand corner: Assignment Title and Blessed be God;
Only English will be spoken during the lecture
Any object that distracts the lecture, group work, or individual work will be confiscated.
Any behavior that disrupts the lecture, group work, or individual work will be addressed appropriately.
