Scope

This lnlernationa Standard specifies the properUes oflhe piping system and ils cornponents made from glass
reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on unsaturated polyester resin (UP) for water supply, lrrlgation,
drainage or sewerage sysiems with orwithout pressure.

This lntemational Standard ls applicable to GRP,UP piping sysiems, with fexible joints, jntended to be
installed using jacking techniques. ll specifies the characlerisiics of pipes made from cRP,UP, with or withoul
aggregales or fi ers and also specifies lhe test paramelers for lhe lest methods referred to in this lnternaiional
Standard.

.t

NOTE

Pipes referred to in th s lniernal oial Sta ndard are because of the r intended use requircd io have a minrmum
romina siiffness ofat easiSN 20000 (see 52 1).

ThiB lnlernational Standard is appllcable to pipes and joints with a size range irom DN1001o DN400O which
are intended to be used for the conveyance of water or sewage at iemperaiures up to 50 'C, wilh or wilhout

It covers requirements to prove the design oi the joinl and specifies type iest performance requiremenls Ior
lhe joints as a firnction of the declared nominal pressure rating of the pipeline sysiem and the required joint
deflection capabiliiy of the system.
GRP-fiilings, used between pipe systems covered by thls International Standard, shall be in accordance wiih
ISO 10639 for water supply systems or ISO 10467 for dralnage and sewerage sysiems, as applicable. n a
pipe-work system, pipes of different nominal pressure and siiffness ratings may be used together.
