effects of exercise on heart? I know that if you do a lot of exercise your heart rate will go up.
I know that moderate-intense
activities will allow me to get my heart rate up but not a lot. I know that vigorously-intense activities will raise my heart rate a lot. I know that heart rate goes up when doing exercise because muscles work hard and need more oxygen.
What do I want to learn about the
effects of exercise on heart? How does the heart help maintain the oxygen for the muscles? How can I tell if I am doing moderate-intense activities? Based on my heart rate? How can I tell if I am doing vigorous-intense activities based on my heart rate?
What have I learned about how
exercise affects the heart? I learned that muscles need a lot of oxygen but they can derive some energy without it by using anaerobic metabolism. But most of the energy they need comes from aerobic metabolism. I learned that the bloodstream is responsible for bringing the oxygen to your muscles. The heart needs to pump a lot of blood to maintain the oxygen supply to the muscles that are working. For the heart to do that, it starts beating faster and stronger which increases heartbeat. I learned that when doing vigorous-intense activities and doing them outside in the heat will increase the heart rate more than usual because the heart needs to supply blood to the skin to cool you down and to the muscles. I learned that I can tell if I am doing moderate intense activities if I can raise my heart rate and be able to talk while doing the exercise but not sing. I learned that I can tell I am doing vigorous intense activities if I increase my heart rate rapidly and I would only be able to say a few words without stopping and pausing for a breath. This type of exercise will allow us to have better blood pressure and have the heart healthier.
