What are my rights? Scenarios

DIRECTIONS: For each scenario below, USE YOUR NOTES to determine whether each scenario is
constitutional or unconstitutional then write a clear position statement to explain your opinion including the
specific amendment that it breaks. (All position statements must be in COMPLETE SENTENCES and clearly state
your opinion.) We will do the first one together, then you must complete at least TWO on your own.
EXAMPLE:

Example Scenario: You are at home watching TV when someone knocks on your door. Before you answer, the
police burst into your home and begin to look through your things. When you ask what they are doing, they tell you
that someone has accused you of doing something illegal and they are looking for evidence. When they are done, they
take boxes of your things away.

This is unconstitutional because under the Fourth Amendment, American citizens are
protected from unlawful search and seizure. Thus, this is not allowed that amendment because
the police would need a search warrant to enter and search your home .

going to stay in your home for a week and you must give them a bed and feed them.

Scenario Three:: You are convicted of a minor traffic violation (i.e., driving through a stop sign), but instead of
paying a small fine, they revoke (take away) your license for life. There is no way for you to ever get it back.
