The Birth of Jesus Christ

Text: Luke 2:5-20


It's not really a 'Merry Christmas' but a Merry Christ birth. He was not really
born in December 25 but nevertheless He was born and that's enough to
celebrate His wonderful birth.
Jesus Christ as eternal God came down to this earth miraculously, conceived
by the Holy Ghost by a chosen virgin woman , He begun His earthly
existence in the Bethlehem manger.
Jesus Christ journeyed with a heart of love
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down
from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the
will of him that sent me.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

He came down in such a humble way

The Manifestation of His Birth


Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this
wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph,
before they came together, she was found with child of the
Holy Ghost.
a. The Persons of His Birth.
b. The Places of His Birth.
Luke 2:4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of
the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David,
which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house
and lineage of David:)
90 mile journey on a back of a donkey
Matthew 1:22 it might be fulfilled
c. The Paltry Narrative of His Birth.
1. Swaddling Clothes.
2. The Manger.
3. The Inn.

The Message of His Birth.

God became flesh and dwelt among us.


To give something to us.

a. His Deity.
Immanuel : God with us.
Who is Jesus really is
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh,

justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the


Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into
glory.

b. His Love.

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in


that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Knowing that I am weak, I will fail yet God gave
c. His Message.
Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of
David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
1. We are lost.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to
save that which was lost.
2. We need to be reconciled.
Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator
between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
John 1:12
3. We need to be saved.
Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through
his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
4. Salvation is in Christ Jesus Alone
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among
men, whereby we must be saved.

The Message of His Birth.


Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is
given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and
his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty
God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
He was born to declare His name to everyone of us.
a. Wonderful.
He can save you
He can change you
b. Counsellor.
He loves you
He cares for you
He teaches you
c. The Mighty God.
He gives eternal life
He is the conqueror of satan, sin, and death.
d. The Everlasting Father.
He is the ever faithful and merciful
e. The Prince of Peace.
He gives peace and joy to them that believe on Him
