JOB SUMMARY
The DLLS formulates, coordinates, supervises and executes the Departments legislative policy and strategy, ensures the overall integration of the Departments
efforts with Congress, develops comprehensive congressional engagement strategies for DepEd officials, and disseminates critical information on all major congressional
activities

Education Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or any Bachelors degree with completed academic requirments in a Masters Degree Program
Experience 3 years relevant experience in policy analysis, policy research, negotiations and legislation
Eligibility CSC Professional (Second Level Eligibility)
Trainings 40 hours of relevant training in policy analysis, policy research, negotiations and legislation

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Coordinates legislative and policy-related activities between the Department and Congress of the Philippines
2. Undertakes continuing policy research on existing and proposed bills and resolutions in accordance with the strategic objectives and thrusts of the
Department
3. Supervises the researchers and administrative staff
4. Manages the daily operations of his section
5. Monitors and lobbies for the immediate consideration and enactment of the Legislative Agenda of the Department as determined by the Secretary of
Education
6. Ensures the timely preparation and submission of position papers on pending legislative measures in consultation with appropriate office in the Department
7. Provides staff support and background information on legislative measures and policies to key officials of the Department and upon request of other offices
8. Provides the necessary linkage between the Department Secretary and Presidential Legislative Liaison Office andits counterpart in the congressional
committee
9. Provides notices of committee meetings, agenda and briefing materials, legislative briefs, minutes and provisions for conference support services to the
officials of the Department
10. Drafts Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRRs) of laws in education and proposes ammendments to existing IRRs
11. Prepares policies relative to education laws and their IRRs
12. Responds to oral and written inquiries of members of Congress and their staff on parochial concerns
13. Facilitates meetings between DepEd and Congress
14. Responds to special concens of other departments/agencies, local government units, private and non-government organizations, including private
educational institutions
