Who
Killed
Jay
Gatsby?

THE GREAT
Book Review
The Great Gatsby was written by
F. Scott Fitzgerald in 1924. He
wrote his most famous while living
in Paris. The book is based off of
the style of the 1920s and trying to
live out the American Dream.
Fitzgerald does this by using
diverse characters that intertwine
within the ink on the page and with
our everyday lives. There is love,
murder, money, and mostly hard
work ethics within the plot.
Fitzgerald did a wonderful job on
executing the story of a very large
love triangle while still
maintaining major themes and
plots. The symbolism throughout
the book that is incorporated is
astonishing. Overall the book was
decent and I would recommend it
to anyone who would ask for my
opinion.

GATSBY

Characters

George Wilson is a minor character who

lives in the Valley of Ashes which is a very poor
area. He is married to Myrtle Wilson. Even
though he is not a major character he still plays a
large part in the book. Spoiler alert, he kills Jay
Gatsby because he think he killed his wife.

Jay Gatsby is a main character in The Great

Gatsby. He lives in West Egg across the pond from
East Egg. He lives in an elaborate estate where he
throws elaborate parties. Even though he throws large
and loud parties, Gatsby keeps mostly to himself.
Because of his shyness there are many rumors that
speculate where he is from and what he has done in his
past. Some spectators think that he has even killed a
man and is apart of the mafia. The story surrounds his
character in the novel and his love affair with Daisy
Buchanan.

SOMETHING
Sliced Bread
Otto Fredrick Rohwedder (pictured
right) created the newest rage. Put
away your knife because pre-sliced
bread is here. Rohwedder is from
Davenport , Iowa and he invented
the Rohwedder bread slicer in
1912. The invention was quickly
shut down because bakers thought
the pre-sliced bread would go to
quickly. This did not stop
Rohwedder, he continued to
improve his invention.
Rohwedder not only created the
slicer, but also a way to keep it
fresh. He created an airtight plastic
bag that holds the bread upright
and can hold between eight and
sixteen pieces depending on the
size bought. You can get this new
and time saving inventions at your
local market.

Hairdryer

NEW

The first handheld dryer was

released in 1920. The hair dryer
was very large, heavy, and it
frequently overheated. Although it
overheated often, it often took
very long to dry hair.
Soon the bonnet hair dryer was
released (middle and bottom
pictures). This hair dryer was very
lightweight. When the hair dryer
is turned on, the air flows through
a tube and out the out the hoels in
the bonnet. This was much faster
and much hotter than the first
patent.

COCO
Coco Channel recently released many new items to the market that are
much more different than a skirt or simple dress. She told Roaring, Fashion
is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street,
fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. She
recently created a series of pants. She took the idea from the working man,
she tells Roaring that if a working man can wear pants so can a woman.
Channel also recently created a perfume for women of all ages. She says A
women who does not wear perfume has no future. And it is the unseen,
unforgettable, ultimate accessory of fashion that heralds your arrival and
prolongs your departure.
Channel says she creates for the woman, not the man. She says that the
most beautiful thing a woman can be is confident. She creates clothes to fit a
womans curves. She tells us, fashion is architecture; its a matter of
proportions.
Channel is the new uprising in fashion and confidently tells Roaring, I
dont do fashion. I am fashion.

CHANEL

Coco Channel continues to wow the fashion

community. She recently just released her bell bottom

pants (top right), little black dress, and perfume.
Channel took the inspiration for pants from men.
She says that a woman wears more pants than a man, so
why shouldn't she wear them. She is correct. The pants are
perfect to show the curves of a woman without being
prude. They are a wonderful addition to any woman's
wardrobe.
Channel also surprised us with an all black little
black dress. The black dress is unlike any other because it
is all black, cut short, but has sleeves. If you plan on
going out on the town, then this is the dress to wear. Just
like the pants, Channel perfectly crafted the little black
dress to hug a womans curves.
Perfume. A womans smell inside a bottle. Channel
is the first woman to put out a high end brand of perfume
for women. It is called No. 5 and is the worlds most
iconic scent. It smells of elegant soap. Its scent would
remind of something fresh. Highly recommended for
women to buy this if they want to be the freshest gal at the
party.

MURDER?
Jay Gatsby
Jay Gatsby was found dead in his pool
on September 1, 1922. Cause of death
was a gun shot wound to the left said of
his chest.
Jay Gatsby was born James Gatz in
North Dakota on June 20, 1893 to poor
farmers. He attended St. Olaf college in
1909 before working for Dan Cody, a
wealthy fisherman. In 1910, Gatsby
changed his name to Jay Gatsby. Gatsby
fought in the War in the summer of 1918.
He moved to West Egg in New York. His
estate remains empty until further notice.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday,
September 6, 1922 from 2pm-6pm.

SUICIDE?

George Wilson

George Wilson was found dead in the

backyard of Jay Gatsbys West Egg
estate on September 1, 1922.
Speculation and police reports have
stated that George Wilson shot Jay
Gatsby in the chest because he though
Jay Gatsby was the cause of his beloved
wifes death. He also shot himself in the
head after the death of Jay Gatsby
George Wilson was born into a small,
poor family. He owned the gas
station/mechanic station on the corner
of 8th and 14th. No funeral date has
been announced at this time.
