Company Background
Southland Manufacturing Company, Incorporated was founded in 1927 as a family

corporation. It is located on the northern part of Negros Occidental and is considered as one of
the competitive sugar manufacturing and refining company.

It derives its income from the sharing scheme on sugar processing and refining. The planters
deliver their sugar cane to Southland Manufacturing Company, Inc. (SCMI) where it is milled
and processed to raw (brown) sugar as the main product and molasses as by product. SCMI
then obtains its 30% mill share on sugar and molasses while the planters get 70% of the total
production.
