Final Project

Now that you have reviewed some tools and explored several scenarios that involve the use of
Web 2.0 tools in the classroom, the next thing to apply what you learned to complete the final
project.
For the final project, please write your own scenario, based on your personal experience in the
classroom or your teaching/training experience. After identifying the problem in your
scenario, identify an appropriate Web 2.0 tool that you think will aid you in solving the
problem.

Guidelines for Final Project

Here are the guidelines that will help you formulate your final project:
1. Describe a teaching/training scenario where you encounter an instructional problem. Be

as specific as possible in your description by providing information about:

the location, school, grade level where the scenario takes place;

the topic and course/subject area related to the scenario;

the technology resources that are available in your school/company for you and
your students

2. What Web 2.0 tool would you use to solve the instructional problem in the scenario you
described?

In your own words, describe the Web 2.0 tool you chose and its features (150-250
words). Also, provide the URL/website address of the Web 2.0 tool.

What are the most applicable features that will help you solve the instructional
problem you described?

Based on the features of the tool, which category do you think the tool belongs? (ex: Skype:

Are there any specific skills that the teacher and learner should have to use the tool?

Are there any specific technological or non-technological resources needed to use the tool?

3. How would you implement the tool in your instruction to solve the problem? Describe the
details of the lesson in which you will use the tool.

4. Were you ABLE to implement the lesson in your class/training?

If you were ABLE to implement the lesson in your class/training, describe the outcome.
How did it affect student learning and engagement?

If you were NOT ABLE to implement the lesson in your class/training then describe how
you could implement it. What are the potential problems you might have and how would it
affect student learning if you could implement it.

5. Would you recommend this tool to others?

Support your decision with at least two advantages and at least one disadvantage
of the tool in the lesson you described (You may mention more).
