DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION


A Police Inspector will be deployed on various duties, including supervisory and operational
duties, covering all aspects of police work. He/she will be subject to discipline under the
Police Force Ordinance and is required to work shifts and / or irregular hours and work in an

who will have many jobs to do at once. This even includes dealing with the actual
tasks that they are trying to complete as well as monitoring their personnel, securing
equipment, monitoring finance, reporting to the public or senior officers and dealing

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

An inspector is responsible for assigning work to police officers, supervising their work and
ensuring that officers follow office policies and procedures. A police inspector may also help
to develop a bureaus policies and procedures while also performing inspections to make
sure that the personnel, performance and equipment so that they conform with inspections,
which include reviews of the cases recorded, personnel files and police premises. An
inspector is also responsible for checking and inspecting for quality standards in
appearance, efficiency and conduct, which includes collaborating with their subordinates
and working over the commands records. One of their other responsibilities for a inspector
involves preparing reports for the higher ups with detailed findings that are related to the
efficiency, conduct and the condition of the police force. When applicable, an inspector may
also have to testify in court cases if there are any findings/leads. When there are
emergencies within the department that occur, an inspector, as second in command, may
have to take over supervisory duties and direct personnel to assure the safety of the
community. When a police chief is unable to perform their duties, a police inspector may
have to be responsible and take over the duties of this post
