Your Gateway Dreaming Course

Welcome!
Welcome to Gateway Dreaming!
The purpose of this 12-session course is to deepen your ability to reach into the vast and mysterious realm of your
dreams to gain answers to your deepest questions and to assist you in the journey to self-awareness. This Gateway
Dreaming Course will give you the tools needed to help you discern your inner messages that come through your
nightly dreams. The deeper intent is to provide information and experiences that will allow you to discern your own
internal answers, which arent necessarily found in anyones teaching but are woven in the depths of your soul.
Dreams are the mysterious language of the night. Since the dawn of time, dream weavers have slipped through the
crack between the two worlds to touch the reaches of inner space and reap the harvest of the night. These secret messages from the mind can foretell your future, reveal your past, and warn you of danger. They can contain creative inspiration or assist in melting the barriers in your life. Dreams can serve as a doorway to the mystic arena of the night
for inner-dimensional travel and communication on the inner realms with loved ones. They can be a springboard for
night healing, astral travel, emotional healing and soul searching.
However, for most people, dreams are now but relics of the mind. We can no longer call on the Muses of the Night
by direct path. In ancient times, when the cycles of nature and the cycles of man were closely intertwined, dreams
of the past and the future, dreams of hunting and planting, and those of war and peace all directed the course of the
tribe or culture. They were deemed essential for survival and for the continuance of life. Dreams were a natural outflow originating from a deep alignment with the forces of nature.
In the night hours, emissaries of nighttime wisdom were called
on to bring forth understanding and healing.
As the sands of time shift and change, the time to awaken the inner dreamer is now. In the twelve sessions ahead, even more, you
will awaken the dreamer within to listen to the oracle of your
heart and the truth of your soul.
Welcome to a sacred journey into the depths of your being . . .
welcome to Gateway Dreaming.

Session 1: Getting Started

Session 1: Getting Started
Topic A: What Are Dreams?
1. Dreams From a Scientific Point of View: For example, we average four to five dreams per night (though we may
experience as few as three or as many as nine). Those who claim they dont dream actually have difficulty remembering their dreams. In fact, each of us spends approximately 20 percent of our total sleep time dreaming.
2. Dreams From a Psychological Point of View: For example, famous psychologists Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Alfred Adler and Erich Fromm each used dream analysis extensively in their practices, developing various therapies and
theories, many of which are still used and expanded upon today.
3. Dreams From a Metaphysical Point of View: For example, a common belief is that spiritual guides come to give
us valuable messages and insight while we are dreaming. Its believed that when the conscious mind shuts down during sleep, these guides have easier access to your inner self.

Topic B: Dream Journal

1. Importance of a Dream Journal: Your journal is an integral tool in your dreaming toolkit. It is a record of your
inner journeys and your quest for self-understanding. Since most of us forget our dreams within ten minutes of
awakening, it can be a daunting task to try and reconstruct your dreams later in the day without having recorded
your dreams in a journal.
It is critical to this work that you use a journal. For now, just record your dreams. You will be interpreting them later
on in the course. By beginning to record them now, you will have many dreams to practice on when we get to that
section.
You can make a journal or you can purchase a journal that appeals to you. Chapter 6 has directions on how to set up
your journal.
2. What You Need:
An easy-flowing pen or a pencil (and a back-up)
Flashlight or night light
Clock, cell phone or watch
Recording device (optional)
