Happy BIRTHDAY WISHES GO OUT TO:

Those Celebrating their Birthday in December

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There will be no Second Collection Today
Dear sisters and brothers:
After the birth of Jesus in Judah, the evangelist
Matthew tells a charming story, full of color and full
of mystery as the nights of the desert. It is a story
where the popular imagination has completed what
the evangelist has told. Three mysterious characters,
astrologers or magicians, or perhaps kings of tiny
countries, arrived one day to Jerusalem. Their
presence made it uneasy throughout the city and
with King Herod. The priests and doctors of the law
held meetings and hastily convened experts in the
interpretation of the Scriptures. They worked
feverishly. There was no time to lose. These three
characters had surprised them with very strange
news. They came from very far away following a
star, in search of a newborn who, according to them,
was the King of the Jews. Herod panicked; among
all the inhabitants of Palestine, this was perhaps the
only thing he feared - the arrival of the Messiah. At
the meetings the priests found that the Messiah was
to be born in the village of Bethlehem. Herod
instructed the three kings and sent them on their way
to Bethlehem. But he requested that they return back
to inform him about the child because he also
wanted to worship him. When he spoke, a very
sinister look kindled in the eyes of Herod. The three
characters and a star led him to where the newborn
was.
