TASK 1: ACADEMIC WRITING


In line with the goal of National Philosophy of Education which includes the
development of holistic students, the Ministry of Education (MoE) Malaysia has encountered
big changes towards the educational system thoroughly. The changes themselves have
involved the betterment of the teachers and the students, not to forget even the school
administrators in order to achieve a very good teaching and learning environment in
Malaysia. The Malaysian Educational Blueprint 2013 2025 is such an effort that has been
done by the MoE in order to improve the future of the education in Malaysia. As for these
goals, it has been suggested by our own Prime Minister, Dato Seri Najib bin Abdul Razak to
do everything in tandem so that our Malaysian students and workers could adapt with the
rapid changes on however they are done. To ensure the changes have been done
thoroughly and critically in this educational sector, the teachers throughout the country have
been playing a big role in this wind of change.
The school parts either primary or secondary have been playing big roles in order to
shape the students attitude towards the changes around their surrounding; to go bad or to
be good. As the students are still youngsters which we still could instil the good values,
teacher plays a big role in order to do this part as teacher is considered as the second
parents for the Malaysian students. Teacher would be a good facilitator in order to equip the
students learning process in the classroom. As the students would spend more time at
school instead of being at home, the teachers could help their students in recognizing their
own learning styles and abilities in understanding the lesson given. Students would prefer to
do their own learning based on their understanding and ability to do the requirements of the
lesson given. In this context, teacher would be the major role who would aid the particular
student in achieving good results and any other achievements (curriculum and cocurriculum) which could help in their future undertakings. As facilitator, teacher could be
leading the students towards the right future planning and to which course they would lead to
according on their talent and ideas given especially in the classroom. Teachers could be

considered as magicians as they might have some intuition as they are the ones who easily
recognize their students abilities in doing things. Teachers could be of help a lot during the
curriculum implementation since they would know what learning styles their students have.
In order for the implementation of the curriculum to be efficient, the teachers might
also act as a role model for the students. In this current curriculum implementation, the
teacher might show a good example in which he or she could influence the students to
emerge with the changes happening in the curriculum. The teaching or learning process is
basically and essentially an interaction between humans. This interaction is carried within a
social context. These thus would generally and clearly define the roles of the teacher and
students roles in the classroom.
As the teacher works as the knowledge and skill practitioner, they are considered to
be competent in applying their theoretical knowledge in various pedagogic contents. The
knowledge and skill practitioner who are among the teachers are encouraged to vary their
teaching skills and not just being stuck towards the traditional method of teaching such as
chalk and talk method. Teachers should be innovative and creative in delivering the lesson
so that it would increase the students interest towards learning. For teachers understand
how children learn and develop thus they can develop and provide learning opportunities
that support their intellectual, social and personal development. Through this, teacher would
use a variety of instructional strategies to encourage their students development of critical
thinking, problem solving and performance skills according to the current curriculum.
The teacher structures the learning environment hence he or she could be
considered as a manager in the classroom. In this role, all decisions and actions required to
maintain order in the classroom, such as laying down rules and procedures for learning
activities. Due to the facts that the current curriculum really go in line with the aims of NPE,
to produce holistically well-being Malaysians, the teachers really take part into the action
and play their role to produce good students. Teacher manages the classroom environment

as conducive as they could be so that the learning process would be smooth in order to
ensure good learning environment. Through this, teacher is seen as an environmental
engineer who organizes the classroom space to fit their goals and to maximize the learning
process among the students.
On top of that, teacher is an individual known as a change agent for he or she could
influence the clients innovation decisions in a direction deemed desirable by a change
agency. Teacher could lead the students towards their future goals where students would do
things which are based on their interests and talent. The teacher thus could prepare the
students towards being a skilful and handy student so that they would fulfil the needs of the
21st century job scope. Hence, this may reduce the rate of jobless society as the skilful
worker is rarely seen nowadays.
In addition to that, some amendments should be made towards the current
curriculum so that it would be in line with the goals especially to prepare the students based
on the Malaysian Educational Blueprint 2013-2025. As to enhance the further success of the
Malaysian curriculum, one of the amendments is that it should be more focused towards
hands on learning in which the students could experience the study themselves. For
example, a cooking class shall encourage them to cook in class, despite of just refer to
books for theory without any practice. This should be practiced the same on any other
required skills nowadays.
Other than that, the curriculum nowadays shall be revised and revamped back so
that the teachers and students could be prepared in adapting with the new one. Curriculum
shall be implemented in a long period as it is really a crucial thing which should be revised
and take any others opinion so that it would not give a really bad impact towards the
Malaysian education. Teachers and students, not to forget the other parties such as the
ministry and school administrations shall cooperate and contribute towards each other in
order to produce a more stable curriculum that could show success and thus uphold the

name of Malaysia throughout the whole world. Teachers are the most important person in
the curriculum implementation process thus they should be prepared with the knowledge,
experiences and competencies in order to be in lined with any curriculum improvement
effort.
