SUBJECT: ICB FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING PROGRAMME
After completing this programme, applicants will be able to work as Junior Bookkeeper, Accounts Clerk,
Reconciliation Clerk, Payroll Clerk, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk. Senior Bookkeeper, Junior Accountant,
Assistant Accountant, Financial Services Officer, Credit Controller, Business Analyst. Technical Financial
Accountant, Financial Manager, Accounting Technician, Tax Technician, Financial Services Manager. Financial
Accountant, Accounting Officer (via SAIBA, Tax Practitioner, Tax Consultant, Management Accountant,
Assistant Manager.
The BLCollege provides the training thereof under the following terms and conditions:

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants of this qualification must have Grade 10 (Std. 8) or equivalent. Applicants will need access to
Personal Computers. No prior accounting knowledge is needed. They must be at least 16 years of age.
Exemption, if applied for, will be granted on previous subjects/learning areas as per ICBs policies in this regard.

LEARNING MATERIAL
Up-to-date quality learning materials and prescribed textbooks designed for your study convenience will be
ordered for you should you optionally choose to buy them. These EDGE learning materials take up to 2 weeks
for delivery.

ASSESSMENTS
Learners will have to register directly with the ICB for exams. They will have to submit their assignments to the ICB
for marking. Assignments are in the form of portfolios of evidence (POE) and will be sent to learners by the ICB.
Learners will also be expected to write and pass eleven ICB formal exams which are normally written in
February, May, August and November. The BLCollege may, not forcefully, accept to assist learners registering
with the ICB should they need assistance in this regard.

CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion of the programme, the ICB will award you with an Achievement Certificate
indicating your result. On successful completion of all learning areas in this qualification, your details will be
uploaded onto the FASSET SETA database and your National Diploma will be issued to you by the ICB. The
National Diploma: Office Administration (SAQA ID 20366) is a National Qualification, accredited by FASSET SETA,
through the ICB, being the quality assurance partner of FASSET SETA.
