INTERIOR FIT-OUT
PART 1 - GENERAL
Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary
Conditions and Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section.
1.01

SECTION INCLUDES

A. Furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment and perform all services and operations
necessary for the complete supply and installation of Interior Fit-Out as indicated in
Interior Fit-Out Drawings and Specifications including:

1.02

SUBMITTALS

A. Product Data: Provide manufacturers technical data on all products specified,

including, full installation instructions for the required finishes.
B. Shop Drawings: Indicate designs, colors, locations, and relationship to adjoining
surfaces.
C. Samples: Submit samples of all finishes, FF&E indicated, illustrating finish color and
texture. The approved sample shall form a standard for the Project and no work of any
inferior quality will be allowed.
D. Contractor to submit detailed installation procedures for acceptance by the Engineer
before proceeding with the work. This shall include manufacturer recommendations and
quality control procedures.
E. Warranty: Sample copy of manufacturer's warranty stating obligations, remedies,
limitations, and exclusions of warranty.
1.03

QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Installer Qualifications: Company specializing in performing work of this Section with a

minimum of five years documented experience. Include list of at least three completed
projects of similar scope with project names and addresses and names and addresses
of architects and owners.
B. Mock-ups: Before commencing work, install mock-ups for all interior finishes, size and
location as directed by the Engineer, to demonstrate surface finish, color and other
aesthetic effects and set quality standards for materials and execution. Simulate
finished lighting conditions for review of mock-ups.

Mock-ups shall be complete with adjoining material and support system to the
satisfaction of the Engineer. If the required standard is not achieved, the
Contractor shall replace (at the contractors cost) until the required standard is
achieved as judged by the Engineer
2.
Demonstrate the proposed range of aesthetic effects and workmanship.
3.
Obtain written approval of mock-ups from the Engineer before starting works.
4.
Maintain mock-ups during construction in an undisturbed condition as a standard
for judging the completed Work.
5.
Approved mock-ups may not become part of the completed Work.
1.04

DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

A. Deliver materials to the construction site in their original packaging with manufacturers
labels identifying manufacturer and product.
B. Inspect materials upon delivery and immediately report to Engineer damaged or
defective materials.
C. Store materials in a well ventilated area with minimum ambient temperature as per
recommendations of the manufacturer. Prevent deterioration due to moisture,
temperature changes, contamination, or other causes.

PROJECT CONDITIONS

A. Comply with manufacturer's written recommendations for environmental conditions for

applying finishes.
A. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install interior finish until building is
enclosed and weatherproof, wet-work in space is completed and nominally dry.
B. The Contractor shall be responsible to maintain the temperature and humidity within
acceptable limits to prevent any damage to the woodwork by providing Wild Air.
1.
Maintain temperature in building between 260C - 280C.
C. Field Measurements: Where work is indicated to be fitted to other construction, check
actual dimensions of other construction by accurate field measurements before
fabrication, and show recorded measurements on final shop drawings. Co-ordinate
fabrication schedule with construction progress to avoid delaying the Work.

Verify locations of concealed framing, blocking, and reinforcements that support
work by accurate filed measurements before being enclosed. Record
measurements on final shop drawings.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.01

MATERIALS/ PRODUCTS

A. Products and manufacturers specified hereinafter are specified for the purposes of
establishing minimum quality standards and performance requirements. Products which
are equal to, or better than those specified, and which conform to the Engineers design
requirements and color selections, may be acceptable subject to Engineers approval.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.01

EXAMINATION

A. Verify the suitability of existing conditions before starting work. Do not begin Work of
this Section until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
B. Before preparation or installation of finishes ensure that:
1.
Backgrounds are secure, adequately true and level to achieve specified
tolerances, free from contamination and loose areas, reasonably dry and in a
suitable condition to receive specified coatings.
2.
All cutting, chasing, fixing of concealed conduits, service outlets and the like, and
making good of the background, is completed.
3.02

INSTALLATION

A. Comply with manufacturer's written instructions for installation.
