Promotional video proposal


-My proposal is to create a short and cheap promotional video of Cambridge, to
advertise and promote Cambridge to new tourists-

The purpose of this promotional video is to inform, promote, entertain and educate
people who have never been to Cambridge before

Promotional video proposal


Synopsis
The start of the promotional video we here bike bells ringing and we have a low shot
of the bikes passing us, then we have a high shot of Cambridge train station. We
then have more shots of kings parade early in the morning where we see the sun
beams coming through kings parade chapel, the video will then move to the market
square where we see the market being set up and coming to life. Music will be
uplifting but slow as the video goes on the music gets a little bit faster and much
happier.

The middle of the promotional video we have a montage of people walking on the
train station people biking and walking along kings parade we also see the market
square full of people buying, selling and chatting. We then have a scene where we
are on the punts, there will be a shot from the front of the punt of us going
underneath the bridge of sighs and revealing the beauty of Cambridge we will
then have another shot of people punting past kings chapel. There will be a voice
over talking about Cambridge's beauty and things to do and see.

the end of the promotional video will mirror the start of the video with having
people walk down kings parade eating ice cream and laughing, with the sunset
falling behind kings chapel, another shot of the market being packed up and all
the punters packing away there boats for the day. The music will begin to slow
down, we will have a voice over explaining the afternoons in Cambridge and
what stye are like, there will also be some special aect sounds of birds tweeting
and people chatting.

Promotional video proposal


Identified target audience
The target audience for this promotional video will be both male and females anywhere between
the ages of 15 to 65+ as the video shows both demographics ( Old and young ) what there is to
see and do in Cambridge. This promotional video will be very good for new tourists to Cambridge
such as a young group of girls and boys traveling around Europe wanting to visit a safe and
beautiful city as well as finding out cool places to go and fascinating things to visit all with cheap
price as they are students who don't have a big budget. It would also appeal to an older
demographic as I talk about and show the rich culture of Cambridge which would appeal to the
older generation as they are seen to like rich culture and museums the older demographic also
have more money as they normally save and they all have pensions. The people who will be
watching this video will be mainly asian people and german people as they are the most tourists
we have, both asians and germans have a lot of money as both these countries are very rich so
this means they will have a lot of money to spend. These will be either businessman or family
coming here, and both these two group of people have money to spend as businessman are
obviously well paid to be flown to England, and family normally have a lot of disposable income.
This could be shown on planes to people flying from america, Germany or Asia and will give them
an idea of what to do when they come to Cambridge and what to see.

Aim for the finished product


For the finished product I want a clear promotional video of what tourists and other people expect
when visioning Cambridge, It will also give them a list of things to do and see when here in
Cambridge. The objective is for tourists to see this promotional video and want to come to
Cambridge.

Style and genre


The style will be a formal one and it will be in a colloquial tone to keep it feeling friendly and calm.
This will be achieved by. This is going to be a promo video.
Giving nice things to do
playing light music
Having calm music player in the background
Shooting in the daytime
Showing happy people
showing the punts and all the sun we get
As my target audience is so wide I've chosen to do this promotional video for 2 - 5 minutes long as
no one wants a long video as not everyone has a long attention span. The video however will be
very interesting and keep them engaged.

as creating a mood map and making it visually pleasing.
Hannah nightingale - Camera woman, helping film low shots high shots and giving ideas of new
shots to do swell as making it as visually pleasing as possible.
Oscar Carter - Sound man, recording sound at all time

The launch date will be the 17th of march, It will take 2 weeks in post production to get the main
production up and going, It will then take another 2 -3 weeks to produce and another 1 week for
post production. This means i will have plenty of time to get to the deadline.

Distribution

Promotional video proposal


The distribution for this promotional video will be shown on youtube as it as free platform where
you can put high quality videos to the world, Youtube is widely used by the whole world so many
people can see it, It will also be distributed on Facebook as my younger demographic use
Facebook a lot and would hopefully be shared so more young people can see it . Synergy could
work well travel agents to promote Cambridge as one of there destinations, another way we could
use synergy would be with the university here in Cambridge as they have a lot of connections
which could be helpful as they could promote it on there website or send it to any of there
connections. We could also work with Cambridge Tv and Cambridge film works to promote this
promotional video of Cambridge.

BBFC certificate for this product


The BBFC certificate for this product will be a U as it is set within a positive framework and will
not offended or scare anybody.
