Agenda:
1. Why: Charge to the Team (Kivi) 15 min
MasteryConnect is an online resource that we will be implementing soon.
It is an interim solution that will help core content teachers triangulate student
performance data as they identify and monitor their students mastery of state standards
which will in turn inform their teaching practices.
In the initial phase of implementation of this standards-based assessment platform, the
goal is to provide teachers with valid and reliable data about students performance
without teachers having to manually input students raw scores into a spreadsheet or
other documents for comparative analysis.
Core content teachers will be able to take advantage of MasteryConnects digital
resources to assign district developed quarterly online assessments, then generate
reports based on students progress toward standards mastery.
A broad number of teachers, representing all of our district schools, across all grade
levels and core content areas have been recruited to assist with building
standards-aligned quarterly assessments.
Teachers across ALL content areas will have the completely voluntary opportunity to
create their own assessments using self-created items that will allow them to take
advantage of MasteryConnects digital resources to assign regular or periodic online
assessments and generate reports that detail students performance.
2. How: Using MasteryConnect Collaborative Training for members who have not yet been
trained (MasteryConnect trained teacher leaders) - 30 min

Review assessment drafts and standardize naming: Grade level, Content Area, Quarter
3. What: Creation of Assessment parameters, timelines, and next steps (MJ) - 45 min
Each content area team will determine the quarter(s) in 2016 - 2017 the assessments
will be delivered.
Share quarterly assessment schedule and determine timeline for remainder of work.
Review content area Year at a Glance guides and MCA Test Specification Teacher
Guides to examine Depth of Knowledge to ensure alignment of rigor.
Review and reserve assessment items within provided item banks aligned to Year at a
Glance
Create assessments using reserved items.
You will be paid for an hour and a half at the curriculum writing rate.
