Style and general instructions

for the preparation of
Ph.D. and MS Research Proposals

Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences

General Instructions:

Proposal should be written in font style Times New Roman.

Title should be short and clear having font size 18
Section heading should be in font size 14.
Text should be in font size 12 with line spacing 1.5.
Page Margins: Left: 1.5, Right: 1, Top: 1, Bottom: 1ch.
Each page contain a header having the title of the proposal.
Each page contain a footer having the student name and registration number.
Ph.D. proposal should contain 15-25 pages and for MS proposal page limit is from
10-15.
Literature review contains 15-30 references for MS and 25-50 references for Ph.D.
proposals.
The first page of the plagiarism report (less than 20 %) of the proposal must be
attached with the proposal with the signatures of the student and supervisor.
Arabic translation of the summary will be attached with the proposal when
submitted after the corrections suggested by BoF for further submission to BASR.
