Diagnostic Function
When some write problem occurs, it is hard to find where it is at CD-RW drive, CD-R
media, or system problem. PX-W4824TU supports diagnostic function to find if the drive
itself has problem or not, without connecting USB data cable.

You can run "write test", "randam access test" and "verify test" with CD-R function.
The steps for the diagnostic are as follows:
1. Turn off the PC power then disconnect the USB cable from the drive.
2. Open the Self Test door at the rear panel and turn on the switch.
3. Turn on the power with pushing Eject button. The LED of drive blinks.
4. Insert a blank CD-R disc that Plextor recommends.
The drive starts the diagnostic.
If the LED blinks 3 times, the disc is not a blank CD-R.
5. After finishing the diagnostic without any problem, the disc is ejected. If a
problem is found, the disc is not ejected* and green LED blinks:
1 blinking: write or read error.
2 blinking: initialize error.
* The disc is ejected by pushing the eject button.
* If the Self Test Switch is on, the Self Test cover does not close.
