Integrated Learning Center

Uniquely, the iServer collaboration platform

consolidates and enhances the de facto Microsoft
technologies of Microsoft Office and Visio to support
core domain specific solutions.

ERP Process
Management

Why is the iServer Collaboration

Platform different?

iServer Repository and Explorer

iServer turns single-user Microsoft Visio into a dynamic multi-user platform,

bringing information into a central repository that supports enhanced
collaboration, decision making, and analysis. The repository provides key
features including role-based permissions, change management, import/
export, and search. iServer Explorer is a panel that sits within Visio, allowing
users to query the repository and drag existing items onto the page
when editing a diagram.

Ease of Use

iServer lets you use the best tried and tested tools
for the job, extending Microsoft Office and Visio
to provide collaborative modeling and analytical
capabilities, while preserving the familiarity and ease
of use of the original applications. This allows users
to continue working on all the valuable, existing
Microsoft content they have previously created.

Flexibility/Configurability

iServer Administrators have the control to

implement and support any framework, meta-model,
or notation required. This can be easily done from
the user interface, and without the need for costly
configuration services from the vendor.

Integrated Training and

Learning

iServer comes with an embedded Learning Center,

which includes product accreditation e-learning
courses, online help, a host of learning resources,
and newsfeed. There is also a full reporting
capability on team and individual training progress.

Speed of Adoption

iServers familiar, easy to use environment means

users can to be up and running within a week. Our
dedicated consulting and support teams are on
hand to offer installation and fast-start assistance; see
our Professional Services for more detail.

Presentation of Content

iServer has a selection of publishing options that

are unrivalled, including live web access to the
repository, publishing to HTML, live document
generation, and a fast publish to Microsoft
PowerPoint. See our communication modules for
more information.

Lower Total Cost of

Ownership and Fast ROI

iServer has a significantly lower price-point than

competitive products, and with the minimal training
and consultancy time iServer requires, its Total Cost
of Ownership is significantly less than other vendor
offerings. This low cost means a quicker
return of investment.

Enterprise Architecture

Central Repository for Enterprise
Architecture

The configured repository provides a shared environment

for architecture teams to produce models and
documentation. With Open Group standards provided
in the EA accelerators, users can benefit from preconfigured meta-models to facilitate consistency and
communication.

Generate Architecture Roadmaps

Quickly create roadmap diagrams to see the planned

transition of your architecture over time. Application,
Technology, and Project roadmap templates can be used
to present information clearly to stakeholders, and can
also be combined and interlinked to create a full picture.

TOGAF 9.1
Exchange Data with
Other Tools and Systems

iServer facilitates the export and import of vital

data to enable the documentation of enterprise
architecture. iServer Diagram Exchange enables
the migration of data from legacy tools, while
iServer Data Exchange allows data such as objects,
relationships, and meta-data from external sources
to be imported into the repository, resulting in a
vast reduction in time.

Assess the Impact of Change

With a range of analysis tools, users are able to

perform change management on the architecture.
This in-depth analysis allows organizations to
reduce the risk of change through traceability
across all levels of the architecture. Component
level version management, with roll-back
and archive features, provides a platform for
architecture governance.

The comprehensive TOGAF 9.1 Accelerator

includes everything an organization needs
to implement TOGAF. This includes a
complete set of diagram and deliverable
templates, implementation of, and process
guidance for, the architecture development
method (ADM), and support for TOGAF
concepts and techniques such as Gap
Analysis, TOGAF Reference Models and the
Enterprise Continuum. This accelerator is
fully certified by the Open Group.

ArchiMate 2.1

iServer provides complete support for the

ArchiMate standard, including the full notation,
meta-model and viewpoints (templates) as
well as a number of resources. This accelerator
is also certified by the Open Group, and
many iServer customers use ArchiMate in
combination with the TOGAF 9.1 Accelerator.

Tool Accreditation

iServer user accreditation provides

interactive e-Learning courses with a
specific EA stream to introduce users to
the TOGAF method as well as the
ArchiMate modeling notation.

Central Repository for Business
Process Analysis

The iServer Platform provides a central repository for

business analysts to collaborate on business process
models and associated documentation. The BPA
accelerators enable teams to choose from industry
recognized standards and notations to implement
structure and ensure consistency.

Share your Process Content

Processes need to be shared with business stakeholders,

process owners and end users. With iServer Portal,
teams have the ability to publish processes online where
they can be browsed, used or reviewed by their target
audience in real time.

Simulate Processes

Using iServer Process Simulator, teams can visualize their

ideas for process change, analyze the impact of those
changes, and compare multiple business scenarios. It
also enables teams to qualify multiple possible future
outcomes, determine optimal process pathways, and
justify investment for change in a risk-free environment.

Documentation

Create attractive deliverables for stakeholders

using iServer Live Documents to publish live
data into Microsoft Word. Training materials,
process narratives, work instructions, and business
requirements documents can be quickly generated
and kept up to date with repository content by
simply refreshing.

Import Business Processes

iServer Diagram Exchange can translate diagrams

from most tools into Visio diagrams, which can
then be re-used within iServer. BPMN processes
can be imported via XPDL or BPMN 2.0 XML, while
other diagram types and proprietary BPA tool
formats are also supported, allowing migration of
processes from legacy tools.

BPMN 2.0, produced by the Object

Management Group, is the industry
standard modeling language and notation
for business processes. iServer provides
complete support for the BPMN 2.0
standard, providing a set of BPMN Visio
templates that have been used globally by
tens of thousands since the launch of the
standard.

Lean

Designed to reduce waste and kick-start

business process improvement, the Lean
Accelerator includes a pre-configured
repository built around the DMAIC process
improvement methodology. Its custom
meta-model builds on the iServer BPA
Solution, and includes templates and
stencils for your Lean initiative.

key statistics, as well as drill down into more
information if required. The range of reports and
views provide increased visibility of the portfolio
within the business, revealing how the application
landscape supports key processes and functions,
and aligns to business strategy.

Understand Change Across

Your Portfolio

Impact Analysis visualizations can be used

to identify applications using old technology
components, and to assess the impact on
business processes if certain applications are
retired. By comparing the baseline and target
libraries, metrics such as total cost change,
change in total number of applications, and cost
per application can be evaluated.
