Ankle sprains, concussions, and shoulder injuries were the predominant trends this season. A larger focus on agility,
balance, as well as hip and core strengthening could aid in decreasing ankle sprains. This season the most concussions
took place at the JV level, indicating that these athletes may need more coaching in technique. Recommendations
continue to evolve regarding player safety and practice restrictions. A significant amount of shoulder injuries occurred
with our linemen this year. This can be attributed to the number of repetitions each athlete took at practice since we were
noticeably thin in these positions. Other factors could be a lack of preventative lifting focusing on rotator cuff and
posterior shoulder strengthening.
