Black & Veatch completed work for Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN)
Indonesia to provide engineering services and operation training for
the Belawan Block II combined cycle project completed in late 1995.
This project is a 430 MW gas and oil fueled facility, similar to the
Block I project also performed by Black & Veatch. Black & Veatch
provided design review, contract administration, construction advisory
services and resident field engineering services.
A key component of the services provided was the Transfer-of
Knowledge (TOK) program that included in-depth classroom
presentations on electrical, mechanical, civil/structural and chemical
engineering design principles by the respective Black & Veatch
department heads. Additional in-depth operation and component
systems training was provided to augment Siemens' training.
