SWBAT utilize glogster.com to create a virtual poster.
SWBAT identify the parts of the microscope.
SWBAT understand the function of the microscope.
SWBAT learn the proper technique to use a microscope.
SWBAT prepare a fresh slide for viewing under a microscope.

Students will be assessed according to a teacher – provided rubric.

Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs:


Additional assistance will be provided by a special education teacher or paraprofessional. Additional time may also be granted if necessary.

Enrichment Techniques:
Students may include a demonstration or another physical element within their presentation.

Lesson Differentiation (What modifications/accommodations will be made to ensure that ALL students have access to and are able
to participate in the lesson):
Additional assistance will be provided by a special education teacher or paraprofessional. Additional time may also be granted if necessary.
An example of the project will be available for viewing.

Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
Students will be divided into groups of 2 – 3. Each group will have 1 class period to research and create their glogster poster. Students will
then have 2 – 3 minutes to present the poster to the class.

Detailed Teaching Sequence:


(Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred)
• Students will sit at designated computers.
• The teacher will conduct a tutorial of glogster while students follow along with their computer.
• An example of a glogster poster will be presented.
• Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions concerning the glogster website or the assignment.
• Students will find pictures, videos, chart, etc. to create their glogster poster.
• Students will save their poster and upload it to the class Weebly website.
• Students will present their glogster posters.

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities


Students will work collaboratively within a group of 2 – 3 students.
Students will create their work with regards to the provided rubric.

Closure:
Students will present their glogster poster to the class. Fellow peers will be encouraged to write information about each group’s poster and
ask questions. Also, following the presentations, the groups will fill out surveys concerning their lesson pros and cons and also the most
interesting fact they learned.
