Business Model
Admission Process
Admission process starts with the registration form. For getting registered in Dr. A. Q. Khan
School, students should register their names. The admission of the student depends or his/her test
and interview. The school can grant or refuse admission without assigning any reason. The
school arranges tests for the students according to the level of class; the students tend to select
admission. Students require passing both written and oral tests. After qualifying the tests, they
are called for interview to evaluate a child's ability, mannerism and presentation. After the
confirmation of admission, parents are called to have a first meeting with the principal or a
teacher. Sibling discount is applicable to the second child of a family, holding admission in the
same school.
School timings
School Timings change twice a year (winter and summer) to meet seasonal conditions. The
changes are communicated through student's diaries. School has five working days a week.
School has two major breaks during academic year, i.e. summer and winter. In addition,
weekends and other holidays are announced by the administration through letters and students
diaries. Summer vacations are longer than winter vacations.

Curriculum
Dr. A. Q. Khan School has devised weekly planner, which keeps lessons student centered,
interesting, and interactive, providing students with better opportunities to learn. School believes
that research based weekly planners would help teachers organize themselves and teach more
effectively. Teachers are given special training in order to draw desired results from weekly
planner.
Assessment and evaluation
At Dr. A. Q. Khan School, students are evaluated on regular basis. Students are not only assessed
for their ability to memorize from textbook but students are also evaluated for their progress in
creative abilities. A comprehensive record of student's progress in monthly, midterm and final
examinations as well as the teacher's progress report is sent to the parents at the end of each term.
The parents are encouraged to attend parent teacher meetings regularly so that they may discuss
all aspects of their child's progress.
Homework policy
Students are given homework on regular basis. Homework is designed in such a way that it
should be both challenging and interesting. It is ensured that home work is checked on regular
basis and improvements are suggested.
Attendance and absenteeism
This school strongly discourages absenteeism except for genuine reasons. A proper application
stating the reason for leave signed by the parents/guardians should be submitted in case of non
attendance of school. School Administration has full authority to cancel leave application or
school registration if a student remains absent for more them a week without prior application.

Fee Payment Procedure

Two months advance fee is submitted to school, issuing a challenge for the payable for these two
months. The parents are to pay the fee for all the twelve months of the year. Late fee is
permissible only with a daily fine. _____
Examinations
Dr. A. Q. Khan School System has an elaborate system of internal and external examinations. Dr.
A. Q. Khan School System has centralized examination system for internal examination. These
internal examinations system ensures that uniform and identical papers are conducted at all the
network Campuses simultaneously. The external examinations are conducted to ensure
verification of student's ability and competence. External examinations are conducted for class 5,
8, 9 and 10th.
Criterion for Student Promotion
Students are promoted to the next level on the basis of their aggregate results, due weight age is
given to attendance and participation in co-academic activities.
Withdrawal
If parents wish to withdrawal their child form the school, they must give one month's notice
writing and clear the school dues in lieu of such notice. Notwithstanding the above, a student
shall be considered withdrawn if he/she has not attended the school for a period of one month,
unless the head of the concerned campus has agreed to such absence.

His/Her fee has not been cleared for two consecutive months.

He/She has been asked to withdraw from school due to disciplinary reasons. The school
in such instances is not required to give any forewarning and the decision will be within

the absolute and sole discretion of the school.

He/She has failed in the same class for two consecutive years.

Management Style
The A.Q. Khan School has the centralized structure in which whole authority and decisionmaking are done and govern by principal of this school and without her permission they cannot
do anything. The information is not delegated to other staff members but this structure creates
few issues:

Reduces the staff motivation level

Lack of integration causes high turnover rate
Effect on customer services
Lack of flexibility
No empowerment among members to take decision

Problem Identification

External Problems

The communication between the teachers and the parents should be strong. The parents are
busy in their routine work due to which sometimes they face certain problems like to go to
school and ask for their childrens performance regularly or the routine quizzes and
homework are not properly monitored by the parents, etc. Moreover, in summer and winter
vacation or any other holidays, sometimes the assignments, vacation home work, etc. cannot
be delivered to the parents because of the negligence of the students or their absenteeism.
Almost every day the parents are coming to school and there is hustle and bustle while
dealing with the parents. Neither parents can talk to the teachers properly nor the teachers.

Another problem is related to the examination i.e. to deliver the syllabus and date sheet to the
parents in time which is again costly and time consuming. In short, parents also want to keep
an eye on each and every activity of their children.

Internal Problems

The payroll of the staff is done manually. Quizzes and terms reports are not updated they are
made manually. If we want to see the past record of a staff then we have to first find his or her
CV then we can get to know about them.
Impact of the problems
Due to these issues, customer satisfaction is reducing because parents want to have an access on
the information by sitting at their homes. They cant come to school again and again due to their
busy schedule.
Moreover there is a problem for the school as well in terms of time consuming and costly
activities like sending reports about the result of students or date sheet, etc. to the parents. Due to
this manual system, other competitors are taking competitive edge on A.Q. Khan School like
Roots school system has the computerized system.
Proposed Solution
We will make a website for A.Q. Khan School in which all the updates would be given for the
convenience of parents and teachers as well. We will provide such system in which syllabus,
assignment and date sheet, etc. will be updated for the ease of everyone. The result report,
quizzes marks and the leave status would be given on each of the students portal account. So
that parents can access information about their childrens record easily. Any type of notice can

also be seen by the parents.

Data about the staff and the students should be made so that it would be easier to find them. They
should use ISsuch a software should be made in which there should berecords of staff and
studentsTranscriptleave statusNotice boardteachers profile.
Perceived Benefits
With the help of this proposed system, many issues of the school can be resolved. When the
school will handle information through the computerized system then it can give convenience
and benefits not only to the parents but also the school itself because ultimately the parents
would be satisfied and they will recommend this school to others as well. Time saving is another
perceived advantage because all the data will be organized systematically rather than
traditionally. Parents would have no need to go to school to get the report about their children but
rather they would be able to access all information by sitting at their homes.
The biggest benefit would be in terms of competitive edge because information systems and
information technology are the part and parcel of any business. Without this, no organization can
get a competitive edge or cannot sustain in the industry. Cost of the school would also be saved
which is a good thing for it because all the result reports will be uploaded on the students portal
rather than taking prints of them and sending to the parents.
