SRMHCAT Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech Programs: Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent
examination, recognized by state or central education board. The candidates who have
appeared for 12th standard in 2016 and awaiting result can also appear in the examination
For B.Com/B.Com (Hons)*/BBA: Candidate must have passed 12th Standard or an
equivalent examination, recognized by State or Central Education Board. The candidates
who will be appearing for 12th Standard in 2017 and awaiting result can also appear in the
exam Candidate must have taken five subjects in 12th Standard. He/she must have studied
two papers from amongst Accountancy Business Studies, Economics & Mathematics with
50% marks in aggregate
For BBA.LL.B (Int.)/B.A.LL.B (Int)/B.Lib.I.Sc/BBA-MBA (Int.): Candidate must
have passed 12th Standard or an equivalent examination, recognized by State or Central
Education Board and must have obtained 50% marks in aggregate. The candidates who will
be appearing for 12th Standard in 2017 and awaiting result can also appear in the exam
For LL.B., M.A (English), MA (Economics), M.Lib.I.Sc & MBA: Candidate must
have passed graduation or an equivalent examination in any discipline from a UGC
recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate
Candidates applying for three-year LLB program must have passed graduation or an
equivalent exam in any discipline from a UGC recognized University with 50% marks in
aggregate. The candidates who will be appearing in final year qualifying exam in 2017 and
awaiting result can also appear in this exam
M.Sc Microbiology (Pharmaceutical): Candidate must have passed graduation or an
equivalent examination in any field of Life
Sciences/Microbiology/Biology/Biotechnology/and Medical Laboratory Technology from a
UGC recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate

The candidates who have passed in final year qualifying exam and awaiting result can also
appear in this exam
M.Tech in CSE Program: Candidate must have passed bachelors degree in
Engineering / Technology or an equivalent degree in an appropriate area or M.Sc
(Computer Science/Information Technology) or MCA and must have obtained 50% marks
in aggregate
M.Tech (ME /Production Engg): Candidate must have passed B.E/B.Tech in
Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Automobile Engineering/Industrial
Engg/Aeronautical Engineering and must have obtained 50% marks in aggregate
For M.Tech in CE/ Structural Engineering Program: Candidate must have passed
bachelors degree in Civil Engineering / Technology and must have obtained 50% marks in
aggregate
Ph.D: Candidate must have passed Post graduation in the relevant discipline from a UGC
recognized University with 50% marks in aggregate. However, an applicant with
M.Phil/CSIR - UGC/JRF/NET cleared in the relevant subject are exempted from Entrance
test

SRMHCAT Exam Pattern

SRMHCAT will consists of 100 questions carrying 300 marks; the correct answer for each
question will carrying 03 marks
There is no negative marking. The medium of language for question papers will be English
only
SRMHCAT will be conducted in both Offline (Pen and Paper based Examination) and
Online (Computer Based Examination)
For B.Com, MBA (Integrated) B.LIS, M.A (English) and M.LIS Courses entrance
examination would be conducted only by offline mode
For MBA & M.Tech. Courses entrance examination would be conducted online by online
mode

Candidates can apply for SRMHCAT by any of Online and Offline mode
Offline Mode: Candidate can purchase the application form for SRMHCAT from the

and upload scanned image of his/her photograph and signature while filling up the "Online"
Application
Candidates are required to take a print out of e-computer generated acknowledgement slip
after successful submission of data and payment of fees and keep the same in the safe
custody for any future reference
