Activity 4 True or false?
T makes statements about the location of the characters on pg. 14 and has Ss tell her True or False. If the statement is
false, Ss have to correct it.
E.g.,
T: Mary is in the supermarket.
Ss: True.
T: Albert is in the bank.
Ss: False. He is in the restaurant.
Activity 5 Where is everybody?: Expansion activity, repetition
Start with Ss having their books opened on pg. 14. Tell them that they can choose whatever loaction they want, they just
need to answer correctly to T's question: Where are you? I'm in the...
T calls on pairs of Ss to ask and answer each other.
Then T has Ss open their books on pp. 11 and 12. T calls to two Ss: Where are you? We're in the...
T calls on three Ss to practice both the question and the answer.
T calls a S and says the names of two other Ss and asks the first S: Where are they? They're in the...
Activity 6 Remember the words
T tells Ss to spend one minute looking very carefully at pg. 14.
T has Ss close their books and write down as many places around town from the page as they can remember.
T has Ss read their lists as a class, in pairs or in small groups.
PW: spelling check.
Optionally: T calls on Ss to come to the board and write their list of words. The class checks the spelling of the words.

Activity 11 Present continuous, introduction
Rule: The present continuous tense describes an action in progress at the moment of speaking (NOW!!!).
Example: What are you doing? [right now] I'm reading.
Rule: The present continuous tense is formed with the present tense of the verb to be + the ing form of the main verb.
T asks a S to write the present tense of the verb to be on the board.

the full sentence is: He is eating. Then T writes on the blackboard: eat eating, He is eating.

Practice:
Have Ss cover the word list and look at the pictures. Say a sentence and have Ss say the number of the illustration or give
