is.

FROM THE CLUB VICE PRESIDENT

Happy New Years!! Some people say December is the most wonderful month of
the year. For myself January isn't to bad itself. January brings, a new day and
hope for the better. We try to make the club a safe, friendly atmosphere to be in
recovery. A place to share like ideas with others that have the very same things
happening in their lives. Also its time to get those dues paid. They are still only
$10 for the year. This includes a lot of opportunities for great fun. As a member
you can take advantage of everything the clubs got going on. Kick off the new
year with us you wont be sorry. And lets go forward with renewed spirts in
hopes of what can be a great new year. Sylvia H.

FROM THE CLUB SECRETARY BY PAULA B.

Hello everyone, happy new years ! The holidays have sped by so fast. One minute it was the
week before Christmas now its New Years. I hope everyone gets used to the newsletter
being online. Its really not hard to find. If I can do it so can you. The club remains the busy
place it always been. We are always doing crafts, Bingo, board games, pool and on and on
it goes. Become a member and enjoy it all. We even went to a concert at the Yale School of
Music. We did this back in November. We went to the Morse Recital Hall and
heard some classical music. I have never been to a performance of classical
music before. I enjoyed listening to it very much. I am so glad that I went.

PARTING THOUGHTS ON THE HOLIDAYS

The holidays have, like always, sped past us again. We here at the
club we hope that everyone had a great Holiday season. We were
blessed at Thanksgiving with great weather and even though we had
to move everyone into the main room it turned out great, we were able
to feed people faster and folks liked being all together. Christmas was
one of the busiest we ever had. Along with lots of food, members enjoyed the clubs traditional caroling and merriment. New years was
somewhat quieter than normal. At first the weather looked iffy but
luckily it cleared and everyone had fun toasting in the new year even
if it was a few hours early. The Valley Social Club is looking forward to a great
new year.

THANKS JACQUES FOR SUCH BEAUTIFUL CALENDARS !

All the members of Jacques Art Class, would like to thank him for his
hard and creative work on the 2017 Valley Social Club Calendar. We
appreciate all he has done to showcase our art work over the last few
years. He has helped us with showing our art at the BHcare Block Party,
Hartford Capitol, September Pumpkin Festival in Seymour, at the club
and in North Haven too! He has gone above and beyond to help us. He
has made our art program respectable
especially with three years of calendars. We
hope he can continue to help us and stay with
us a long time.
Thanks again, the VSC Art Class.
