Adult Arrest - CDS


Amisaday Rodriguez-Santos, a 20 year old Newark resident was arrested on
Monday, 11-28-16 at approximately 11:50 pm for possession of CDS (marijuana).
Officers stopped a vehicle (2006 Honda) for motor vehicle violations at the
intersection
of Irvington Ave & Ward Place. Investigation during the stop revealed that the driver
of the vehicle, Rodriguez-Santos was in possession of marijuana. Officers arrested
subject without further incident and transported him to headquarters where he was
processed accordingly.

Auto Theft
A Livingston resident reported that his vehicle (2003 Jeep), which was parked in the
NJ Transit Lot, was stolen on Sunday, 11-27-16 sometime between 7:00 pm and 9:30
pm.

Shoplifting - Arrest
Zaakir Powell, a 19 year old Newark resident was arrested for shoplifting on Sunday,
11-27-16 at approximately 12:15 am for shoplifting after an officer observed the
subject stuff several items into his jacket pocket and then leave the store without
paying for them. The officer immediately arrested Powell without further incident.
Search incident to arrest revealed that Powell was also in possession of CDS and
officers transported Powell to headquarters. During processing, a record check of
the subject further revealed that there were two active arrest warrants out of South
Orange. Officers charged Powell accordingly.

Assault
Two victims a male and a female stated that they were walking on Irvington Ave. in
the area of Cottage St. on Wednesday 11-23-16 at approximately 9:45pm when they
were physically assaulted by two actors that were described as a thin black male
and
and a thin black female. The victims stated that the actors were accompanied two
other actors also described to be a thin male and female. After the incident the
actors fled the scene in a white or light colored minivan. The Detective Bureau is
investigating the incident.

Robbery - Carjacking
A Bronx, NY resident reported that on Saturday, 11-26-16 at approximately 2:19 pm,
while outside at a So. Centre Street residence, he was approached by an unknown
actor who pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at his chest and demanded he
give him his vehicle (2014 Jeep), which was parked the driveway. The actor, described by the
victim as a 6'- 03", medium build, black male wearing a grey sweat suit, with a ski mask
covering his face, took the keys and drove off in the vehicle traveling north on So. Centre Street.
A short time later, Newark police located the vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied, on
South 11th Street and secured the scene for processing. The Detective Bureau is currently
investigating the incident.
