2.0 INTRODUCTION TO AIR CONDITIONIG.

An air conditioning system is an assembly if different part of the system use to
alternate the properties of the air to produce a more favorable condition of air
within a required space of a building. The air conditioning is defined as a process of
cools or heat, cleans, circulates and controls the moisture content of the air in a
space.
Based on ASHRAE, the range the temperature between 23 c to 27 c is the best
and ideal temperature for human being to feel comfortable. There are four main
types of air conditioning used nowadays, which is the split air conditioner system,
window air conditioner system, packaged air conditioner system and centralized air
conditioner system. Split air conditioner system and window air conditioner system
are commonly used in small spaces such as residential home. Large commercial
space like auditorium and shopping malls, centralized air conditioner system are
widely used, as it is most effective and more economic compared to the small units
air conditioner, as it is not economically viable.
In such hot and humid climate in Malaysia, the air conditioner is essential
equipment in most building as to achieve thermal comfort.

2.1 SPLIT UNIT AIR CONDITINING-SYSTEM.

The split air conditioner is the most common type of air conditioning system
nowadays, The split air conditioner comprises of two part: the outdoor unit and the
indoor unit, which located outside the room. Houses components like the
compressor, condenser and expansion valve. The indoor unit consists of the
evaporator or cooling coil and the cooling fan, for this unit you dont have to make
any slot in the wall of the room. A split air conditioner can be used to cool one or
two rooms, which can be, stand alone, ceiling mounted or wall mounted.

2.2 CASSETTE UNIT AIR CONDITINING-SYSTEM.

Cassette units work the same way as wall-hung split system units, with the
difference being that cassettes are installed into the ceiling instead of on the wall.
The indoor unit itself sits flush to your ceiling and distributes conditioned air through
two, three or four sides of the unit. The outdoor unit of a cassette air conditioner is
mounted outside, in much the same way as it would be for a conventional wall
mounted split system unit. Cassette unit has been designed to suit all standard 600
x 600mm grid, for easy installation and maintenance. Its compact design blends
with any room interior, where appearance is as important as functionality.

3. OBJECTIVE OF PRACTICAL

1. Learn the proper way to control the air conditioning.

2. Understand in detail the information provided on the inside of the air conditioner
according to different types.
3. Practice the work or practical tasks based on what they have learned in theory as
an example of such a filter cleaning air conditioner.

4. PROCEDURE

A. PROCEDURE HOW TO GET INFORMATION.

Step 1: Turn off the power to your furnace or blower. If you can't find the shutoff
switch on the unit,
then turn it off at the main panel.

Step 2: pull out the face plate carefully with the arrow that are provided at the face
plate.

Step 3: take the information contained in the air conditioner Cassette Unit/split unit.

Step 4: closing face plate to its original form

Step 5:turn on the air conditioner switch to make sure aircond in good function.
