A Short description of the subjects covered during my Studies:

1. First Semester
Applied Mechanics: In this module covers the topics about Static and Dynamics, which is
common to all streams.
Computer Programming: This module covers programming in C and FORTRAN.
Basic Electrical Engineering: This module covers all the topics form Basic Electrical
Engineering like Electrical Network Analysis, RLC Networks, Network Theorems, etc.
Reference Book for this module is A textbook of Electrical Technology, B. L. Theraja and A. K.
Theraja.
Engineering Drawing I: This module covers the necessary drawing skills that are required for
Engineering drawing.
Engineering Mathematics I: This module covers all the mathematical topics that is required
for Engineers.
Reference Book: Advance Engineering Mathematics by Erwin Kreyszig.

2. Second Semester

Basic Electronics Engineering: All the content were taken form book Microelectronic Circuits,
Kenneth Smith, Adel Sedra
Engineering Drawing II: This module is continuation of Engineering Drawing I.
Fundamental of Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer: In this module, all the topics related to
Thermodynamics are taught, which interdisciplinary course among all streams is.
Workshop Technology: In this module, Students are introduced to basic workshops tools and
skill that is needed in future to perform any projects.
Engineering Mathematics II: Continuation of Engineering Mathematics I
Engineering Chemistry
3. Third Semester
Object Oriented Programming: In this module C++ programming is taught to make students
familiarize themselves with the concepts of Object Oriented Programming
Electric Circuit Theory: In this module, the main focus is on AD and DC Circuits, Transient
response, Steady state Response, RL, RC, RLC circuits, Resonance, etc.

Electrical Engineering Materials: All the materials which are essential for Electrical
Engineering

Electronics Device and Circuits: Continuation of Basic Electronic Device
Digital Logic: In this module, the main area of focus is on Digital logic and
Reference Book for this module is Digital Principles & Applications by Donald P leach.
Electromagnetics: In this module topics like The Electric Field, The Magnetic Field,
Transmission Line, Antenna, Smith Chart, etc.
The Reference book for this module is Engineering Electromagnetics by William Hart Hayt
Engineering Mathematics III: This module is the Continuation of Engineering Mathematics II

4. Forth Semester
Electrical Machines I: In this module Electrical Machines like Transformer, DC, and Three
Phase Induction Machine are taught.
Reference Book for this module is Electric Machinery by Arthur Eugene Fitzgerald, Charles
Kingsley, and Stephen D. Umans
Instrumentation I: In this module main topics covered are Sensors and Transducers used in
Electrical systems for measurement and Instrumentation.
Power System Analysis I: This modules covers all the topics of Electrical Power system.
Reference book for this module is Power System Analysis by John J. Grainger, William D.
Stevenson
Microprocessor: In this module two microprocessor 8085 and 8086 are covered.
Applied Mathematics: This module focuses of the topics required in Engineering like Fourier
Transform, Fourier series, Z transform, Laplace Transform, etc.
Numerical Methods: This module covers all the Numerical methods that are required in
Engineering Application.

5. Fifth Semester
Electrical Machines II: This modules is continuation of Electrical machine and covers other
machines like Synchronous Machine, Single Phase induction Motors and some special motors
used in industries.
Control System: This part of control system covers topics that are related to analogue open
and closed control system.
Reference Book: Modern Control Engineering by K. Ogata
Electrical Machine Design: This module covers the design aspect of Electrical Machines like
Transformer, DC machine and AC machine.
Power System Analysis II: This module is continuation of Power system Analysis I
Instrumentation II: This module is continuation of Instrumentation I, but based on
interfacing the system with Microcontroller.
Communication English
Probability and Statistics: This modules covers all the topics related to probability and
statistics.

6. Sixth Semester
Engineering Economics: This module covers the topics of Economics which are essential for
engineers.
Hydropower: This module covers Hydropower Engineering along with Fluid Mechanics and
Hydrology.
Switchgear and Protection: This module covers all the topics which are essential for
Electrical Power system protection like Fuse, Circuit Breaker, Relay, Insulators, Isolator,
Lightening arrester, Solid State Relay and other different types of protection Systems.
Digital Control System: This module covers the Digital Control System Engineering that are
essential for Electrical Engineering.

Industrial Power Distribution & Illumination: This module covers Electrical System Design of
Commercial Buildings.
Signal Analysis: This modules covers topics that are related to Signal and Systems which is

7. Seventh Semester
Project Engineering: This includes topics related to project management essential for
Engineers.
Technology Environment and Society
Power Electronics: This modules covers Electronics Devices that are used for Power
Application like rectifier, inverter, chopper, modulators, voltage controllers, etc.
Utilization of Electrical Energy: This module covers application of Ac and Dc motors,
Electrical Drives and Utilization of Electrical Energy
Power Plant Equipment: This module covers topics like Diesel Engine Power Plant, Steam
Power Plant, Gas Turbine Power Plant, Combined Cycle Operated Power Plant, etc.
Organization and Management: This module covers topics related to organization and
management required for Engineers.
