This is a fun mini lesson with animated characters to teach
students about the information found on the title page of a
book. In this fun video, two animated characters (a teacher
and student) discuss the information found on the front
cover of a book. Students will have fun listening to the
conversation between the teacher and student called
Learnopedia, while learning about the title page
information
FF: take photos of them reading on iPads and then have
them write about books they like to read.
Discuss aspects of books.
Each page is to be created in their library book first and
then edited, Start with alliteration using the first letter of
their name. Demonstrate how to create a story using
alliteration. Have children use shelf markers to locate a
book in the fiction section that starts with the same letter
as their name. eg Meg = M.
Meg went to the mountain and made friends.
Theme Edit stories and then add illustrations on one page.
Discuss illustrations.

Non-Fiction: Students complete page in book based on nonfiction topic of choice. Look up non-fiction books on shelf. Eg
Ants- write facts etc and include relevant subheadings.
Characters: Looking at characters. Use page to create a
character. Eg name is Bruce. Would be on the B page. Talk about
style and look and how names can match characters.
Point Of View: Write a page with storyline using First,
Second, or Third-Person point of view of a different animal.
Show how to do. Use title as the starting point for the page.
