ABSTRACT
Breast cancer has a very high morbidity and mortality in women around the world. The
development of medical about biomolecular of cancer therapy modalities become more
diverse, chemotherapy is one of them. Breast cancer chemotherapy is given in
chemotherapy regimens, combination of two or more drugs need for caution the
potential of drug-drug interactions. The purpose of this research studies is to gain an
overview of cytotoxic drug use patterns and potential drug interactions treatment of
breast cancer in the Santosa Hospital, Bandung Central. The study was conducted with
descriptive analytic observational with retrospective studies. Data retrieved from
medical records and profile the treatment of patients. The sample were 22 patients
which fulfilled the inclusion criteria from January to December 2015, the gained data
were studied base on the related literatures (a book of Stockley's Drug Interaction, a
book of Drug Interaction Facts, Medscape application and research journals ). The
research results that breast cancer chemotherapy regimens most widely used is
regimens TC (taxanes and cyclophosphamide) (31.82%), followed by regimen of AC
(Adriamycin / Doxorubicin and Cyclophosphamide) (22.71%). Potential drug
interactions that occur is 149 cases in 22 patients, with the kind of potential
pharmacokinetic interactions were 120 cases (80.54%), potential pharmacodynamic
interactions were 27 cases (18.12%), and the combination of pharmacokineticpharmacodynamic interactions were 2 cases ( 1.34%). The most common of potential
drug
interaction
is
cyclophosphamide-dexamethasone
(40.27%),
and
cyclophosphamide-ondansetron (34.90%).
