- 1.0 - Overview -The software have full access to the Ge3000. It features the following parts:

- 2.0 - Installing the software -A) - To install the software unzip the file; the following screen will appear:

B) - Double-click on the Ge3000 icon; the screen of installation will appear. Follow the
instructions by clicking 'Ok' or 'Next' when required.

- 3.0 - Connection Setup A) - The software will add an icon on the desktop as indicated below. The first digit
indicates the hardware version of the Ge3000 c,ontroller; the others 2 digits indicate the
software release. In this example: version of hardware is '1' and version of software is
'12'. Connect the PC to Ge3000 (see section 8.00)

B) - Double Click on the 'GE3000-1.12' icon (or choose 'Open' by using the mouse); the
main screen of the software will appear as indicated below.

C) - Choose the Serial Com Port, select the Ge3000 address (in other words you have

TO match the node programmed into Ge3000 as described in section 10.0 of the OEM
manual). Push 'Connect'; the following message will indicate the status of the
connection:

Click on 'Parameters'; the list of parameters will be indicated in the 'Selection Area'. Click
on the Menu of your interest; the 'Display Area' will update automatically. You can read the
settings of Parameters, view Measurements, Alarms & Memory Events and other
functions. Three examples of screens follow. You can read the parameters always, but it is
possible to modify them only in 'OFF' mode (see sections 5.0 and 6.0).

- 5.0 - How to Modify / Store Parameters Click on 'Parameters'; the list of parameters will be indicated in the 'Selection Area'. Click
on the Menu of your interest; the 'Display area' will update accordingly. Before modifying
parameters you are required to enter the OFF mode by clicking the 'OFF' button (the
engine will stop). You can also enter the OFF mode by using the OFF button on the front
panel of the controller. By using the mouse or keyboard, you can modify the settings. Click
on 'Write parameters'(*) and the message 'Write Ok' will appear after a few seconds in the
'Feedback Area'. We recommend that you save the parameters in a file as indicated in
section 7.0.

(*)NOTE: if Ge3000 is password protected, you are not allowed to program the
parameters. The Ge3000 will return the message 'Write fail' (see section 10,0)

- 6.0 - Restoring the default parameters -

The software features a set of 'Factory Programmed' parameters (so called Defaults). To
load the defaults, click the 'Default' button. The message 'Default Parameters Loaded' will
appear in the 'Feedback Area'.
The Default button loads default parameters in a buffer of the PC. To write the defaults into
Ge3000, use the Write parameter ,procedure described in section 5.

Note: writing parameters into Ge3000 is possible only if the controller is in OFF
mode. You can enter the OFF mode by using the pushbutton of the front panel or
directly, by clicking on the 'OFF' button (see 4.0)

- 7.0 - Save file / Open file Save file (**)

You can store different set of parameters (for each model of panel for example) in
different files with a proper name. Click the 'Save file' button and choose a name &
location to store the file. The 'Feedback Area' will confirm the result of the operation.

Click the 'Open file' button to open a file that contains the parameters that you want to
program into GE3000.Push the button 'Wri te Paramters'. The 'Feedback Area' will confirm
the result of the operation with the message 'Write Ok'.

(**)NOTE: if Ge3000 is password protected, or not in O FF mode, you are not allowed
to program the parameters. The Ge3000 will return an error message (see section
10,0 for password programming)

1. Connect C232-485 to PC using CABLE 1 .

4. Turn ON power supply to GE xxx.

- 9.0 - Engine and Generator control -

The area for the control of the Engine and Generator contains buttons that allows you to:
- open/close the contactor of the Generator (if Ge3000 is in manual mode)
- open/close the contactor of the Mains (if Ge3000 is in manual mode)
- acknowledge an alarm (only if you are in the 'Alarm status' page)
- select a mode of operation
- initiate a test cycle of the engine (only if the mode of operation is AUTO)
- terminate a test cycle of the engine (only if initiated by computer)

The following information are also provided:

- presence of an Alarm (the symbol in the ACK icon will turn red)
- status of OEM password (lock/unlock)
- status of USER password (lock/unlock)
- mode of the operation
- miscellaneous messages about the staus of engine (see section 1.0)

- 10.0 - OEM & USER Passwords Once connected, as described in section 3.0, the software controls if the Ge3000 is
password protected. If a OEM/USER password is programmed in the controller, the
software will display a red icon as indicated below.
It indicates that
Ge3000 has a User

password

You can UN-LOCK the password (OEM,USER or both) by typing the 4 digit code. Ge3000
accepts numbers, Lower case and Upper case letters (case sensitive). After UN-LOCKING
the password(s), the icon(s) will appear as indicated in the next figure. Once UN-LOCKED
you are able to:
Disable the password
- click on the 'Disable' button. The 'Feedback Area' will provide you a confirmation of the
operation.

Programming a new password
- type, inside the box, the new password. Click on the 'New Password' button. You can use
numbers or letters (case sensitive, max 4 digits). The 'Feedback Area' will provide you a
line of confirmation of the operation.

- 11.0 - Control Panel & Miscellaneous To have access to the Control Panel, double click on Ge3000 and double click on
MISCELLANEOUS. The functions available are:
- control the dislay of the controller
- clear the Energy counter
- clear the starting counter
- cancel the memory
