A SURVEY ON THE WORK-LIFE BALANCE IN A COMPANY

Objectives
1. To identify if the current policies have an impact on the performance of Teledirect
Telecommerce Sdn. Bhd.
2. To identify how job designs affect the performance of Teledirect Telecommerce Sdn. Bhd.

Preface
Employees at the workplace need motivation so as to give their best to the organization. The
organization should strive to ensure that the employees have job satisfaction. Different policies
are being implemented in companies to motivate the employees showing appreciation and care.
The job design in the company has an effect on the performance of employees. The policies in
the company help an employee to create a good work-life balance so as to be more productive in
the workplace.
Work-life balance is a concept that involves effective management and juggling between ones
paid work and the other activities that are of importance. Achieving this balance is becoming
increasingly difficult today due to pressure on individuals. This is due to the competitive society
we are living in. individuals are faced with the challenge of striving to meet all the requirements
of the employers and tend to have an imbalance between work and life. Companies are
encouraging work life balance by mandating a practical work-life balance policy.

The performance of employees is dependent on several factors in the organization which include:

- welfare policies
- Job design
- Work hour policies
- Supervisor support
- Work life balance
- Organizational performance
