Little Egg Harbor Township - Unauthorized Dissemination of Information

Dear Sirs:
Please be advised I am the Township Attorney for the Township of Little Egg
Harbor. I have been authorized by the governing body of the Township by Resolution 2016-231 on
October 27, 2016, to contact your offices to seek assistance with the investigation of the improper
release of confidential Township information including employee complaints and confidential
investigative reports that were subsequently posted in their entirety on an internet blog.
The Township Committee is concerned about an unknown agent jeopardizing the
executive privilege, ensuring the protection of its employees, and security going forward and seek
to ensure that no more confidential information is released.
I have attached three relevant blog postings. The first is dated July 22, 2016
discussing a confidential employee sexual harassment complaint against another employee. Labor
Counsel's entire investigative report was posted on the site. The second is dated September 1, 2016
concerning discipline against the tax assessor the unauthorized use of a Township vehicle.
Documents from the assessor's personnel file were posted on the site as well as his complaint filed
against the Administrator. Finally correspondence from the Chief of Police to the County

consisted of allegations against a current member of the Township Committee and the Code
Enforcement Officer.
The Township Committee is very concerned about the breach of confidentiality and
