Engineering

Purpose

The purpose of this PRC is to define the requirements for developing the engineering work plan input to
support the Project Execution Plan (PEP).

Scope

An Engineering Work Plan will be developed for projects whose scope includes engineering. The plan
addresses engineering activities that are required to support project initiation and execution.The plan is
dynamic and must be kept current as the project progresses to reflect increasing definition and/or
significant changes. The method is the standard and applies to all business units.

Definitions

Prject Execution Plan : It defines the project goals, framework and direction and is based on the project
teams' strategies for executing the work. The plan is a brief, action-oriented communication tool used to
document a common basis of understanding and commitment by all project participants.
A Project Execution Plan is required for every project. The level of detail is always dictated by the scope
of work, complixity of the project, amount of risk and the amount of proposed execution details required
by the client. The Project Execution Plan is dynamic and kept current as the project progresses to reflect
increasing definition and/or significant changes.
P.E.M - Project Engineering Manager - the responsible for design and engineering on a hydrocarbon
project.
P.T.M. - Project Technical Manager - the responable for design and engineering on an infrastructure
project
