notabletoswellfibresasaresultminimalamountofwaterisimbibedinthefibrestructure,soslow

Heretheadvantagetakenisthatsyntheticfibres areconsideredtobethermoplasticandwhenthese
fibres areheatedtoahightemperature,theysoften,theirinternalstructureisopenedupfacilitating
theentryofdispersedyeinthefibre

Thisplasticizingeffectofheatonthesefibres isresponsibleforrapidrateofdiffusionofthedye,
requiringonlyafewsecondstoafewminutes
