INSTRUCTIONS
For this summative assessment you will be creating a book on the Renaissance using
Georgia World History Standard 9. Each part of the standard (A-G) will be a chapter in
your book; therefore you will have SEVEN chapters total.
Step 1: Research and take notes on each of the standards (A G). Start with A and work
your way to G.
- Do not forget to research all parts of each standard. For example, standard B
asks for the artistic AND scientific achievements of both Leonardo da Vinci AND
Michelangelo.
Step 2: Research the family tree of Henry VII.
- You will be including this family tree for him in chapter D of your book.
Step 3: Research the Gutenberg Press.
- You will be making a visual representation of how the Gutenberg Press works in
chapter G of your book.
Step 4: Find a quote from each of the following humanist writers and explain the
importance/meaning of each
quote. (Include them in section C of your book)
- Dante
- Erasmus
- Petrarch
Step 5: Incorporate 3 Graphic Organizers in your Renaissance book.
- It is up to you which graphic organizers you use.
- It is up to you which chapters you include them in.
Step 6: Turn the notes that you made in STEP 1 into paragraphs.
-You may handwrite these paragraphs on computer paper or type them. YOU ARE
RESPONSIBLE FOR PRINTING OUT A HARDCOPY OF ANY MATERIALS YOU WISH TO
TURN IN BEFORE THE DUE DATE.
Step 7: Include illustrations for each chapter:
- MOST illustrations should be created by you, however you may use SOME
computer generated images.
Step 8: Create a cover for your book with a creative title and images.
Step 9: Create a table of contents for the book.
Step 10: Assemble the book.
- Make sure that all items required are grouped within the appropriate chapters.
