Nadine Duret-Sauer,
I am interested in applying for the Science and Math 9/10 teaching position (posting 1636162) at
Timberline Secondary School. Having worked closely with the many Canadian curriculums, during my
time at MindFuel and more recently at Inglis tutoring, I have a good understanding of the material and
outcomes for each course. I think that I will make a good fit for Timberline because I share a passion for
teaching, learning and student success.
Since January 2016 I have been a TTOC in the Comox Valley working primarily with
secondary math and science classes. I have completed a practicum teaching Grade 8 Math at
Wolfville School, where I worked hard to create lessons that captivated my students and were
relatable to their lives. I volunteered extensively at the school throughout the year and built
strong relationships with students. I have also taught Grade 10 Math and Science at
Landmark East School during my third practicum. There I worked with students with a
variety of learning and social disabilities. I gained a great deal of experience learning how to
diversify and adapt lessons for a wide range of students. I took the initiative to organize a
school-wide Amazing Race for their last day of school. Through that I demonstrated my
strengths as a leader and my ability to organize and delegate. Additionally, through my
experience as a tutor I gained valuable skills to help students one on one. It is my goal to
engage my students and tailor my lessons to meet each students needs and interests.
