incorporate learners prior
knowledge and
experience with content
acquisition. Seeks

importance of discussing
with colleagues how to
use relevant instructional
materials, resources, and

Explain why you rated yourself as you did.

I feel that while I understand my students and can develop hands on, active lessons, I can just as easily fall into patterns or routines that do not take into account the individual learner. I take
into account the need for the pace to be slower, the need for my students to see a concept multiple times to support retention and processing, but sometimes miss the individual pieces.
What are your strengths and challenges related to learning environments?
I feel that I know my students well. I feel that I am mindful of their prior knowledge and skills and can build upon their strengths as learners.
Outline two specific actions you can take to help yourself improve your self-assessment related to learning environments?
Continue to practice more with specific and individual differentiation.
Connect learning to school and community. Make sure to create the connections not only with information to self with the learner, but information to the world in which they live.
