Assembly pipes with solvent cement joints

-1Cut & Deburr
Where necessary, cut pipe to
length at right angle to its axis to
maximize surface for bonding. Use
of a mitre box and fine tooth saw is
recommended.
-2Degrease the Spigot

Insert pipe straight into the fitting as deeply into the fitting
socket as possible without twisting and hold in place firmly
and steadily for at least ten seconds for Fast Dry and
twenty seconds for Slow Dry.
Remove excess solvent cement with a soft cloth. A small
closed adhesive ring should be clearly visible at the end
of the fitting to signal that the sufficient adhesive has been
applied.

asked questions
Can a GyroJoint be used to connect a Paling PVC pipe with pipes made of other
materials ?
A GyroJoint can be used to connect a Paling rainwater downpipe with a pipe made of other materials,
as long as they are of compatible metric sizes.
What is the main benefit of this product ?

The GyroJoint can take a significant amount of angular deflection: up to 45 degrees angle and a total
of 100mm in lateral movement. Under extreme movement and vibration conditions, these features
prevent damage to the rainwater piping system and avoid the need for expensive replacements.
Is a gyrojoint suitable for outdoor use ?

GyroJoints are made of a durable elastomeric material that has excellent resistance to weather
impact. All metal components that are used with the gyrojoint are made of corrosion-resistant
materials.
Can the product also withstand heat ?

This fitting can resist temperatures of up to 120c. However, it must be noted that rainwater downpipes
are only able to withstand heat of up to 60c. Therefore, it is important that the piping system be
operated within the lowest limit of tolerance, which is 60c.
is it difficult to install the gyrojoint ?

Installation can be done easily. Any dirt, oil or debris should be removed from the surface before
connecting the GyroJoint to the pipe. The sleeve section of the GyroJoint slips into the pipe without any
need to exert extreme force. After slipping it in, all you need to do is tighten the steel bands to secure
the GyroJoint in its permanent position.
