Ludihana : Labour Day was celebrated at Sacred Heart Senior
Secondary School with full (pride and excitement) aplomb. The
function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and
acknowledging their hard work.
Prayer marked the beginning of the programme followed by an
inter-house folk dance competition. The students with their
rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skills. Then,
a speech and a poem by Deepkamal and Harsimrat respectively
lauded the ceaseless efforts of the work force of the nation and the
school in particular.
Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed
their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and
students for their endeavour.
School principal congratulated the workers and thanked them for
their selfless services. After this, school director focused on the
priceless contribution of the workers for the smooth functioning of
the institution.
While Tagore House stood first, Nehru House got the second
position, Shastri House and Gandhi House bagged the third
position.
The ceremony came to a close with the recital of the school
anthem.

2. Golden jubilee celebration of your school

St Josephs High School, Pashan, celebrated its golden jubilee year on Wednesday
evening. The school had organised a Eucharistic celebration as a form of
thanksgiving.
Bishop of Pune, Thomas Dabre, led the celebrations. All former principals of the
school were felicitated (congratulate) on the occasion.
Alumni and ex-teachers of the school were present in large numbers. The prayer
ceremony was followed by a cultural programme where students performed on
various themes.
Dabre congratulated the school and wished them a glorious future. In his address
to an attentive audience he said, In our country, women are always discriminated
against. In such a scenario, the school has made a very precious contribution to
society.
Emphasising the need to inculcate values in students the bishop said, An
education without moral values is dangerous to society. We have seen this affect
even highly educated individuals.
The school was all decked up(decorated) with celebration in the air. Many exstudents and teachers grew nostalgic(sentimental) during the event.
Primary teacher Berlina Benjamin, who has been a part of the school for 33 years,
did not have words to express her gratitude to the institution. For me, this place
has been a second home as I have spent almost my entire life here. First as a
student, then as a teacher and parent, she said.
She has seen the school grow to extraordinary levels during these years, she said.
Each and every moment spent here is very precious to me. All our students have
made us extremely proud of them, she said.
An ex-student of the school, Divya Mohan, a dentist by profession, was very
emotional at the ceremony. I miss my friends today and wish we could have
shared our joys together. Mohan, who passed out in 1999, was a head girl of the
school and intends to enroll her children here.

Van Mahotsava 2016 - July 1 (Friday) to July 7 (Thursday)
Border Security Force (BSF) School, Jammu, celebrated Van Mahotsav on its
campus. The aim of the function was greener tomorrow to combat the
onslaught of global warming.
The purpose was to sensitise people to the significance of environment. A rally
was taken out to make peoples approach towards environment more
meaningful. Principal Dr SS Khokhar flagged off the rally.
Saplings were planted by the chief guest, Rakesh Sharma, IG, BSF, Jammu
Frontier, along with other officers of the force. Students took the pledge of
planting more and more trees.
Speaking on the occasion, the IG, BSF, urged students to plant a tree on their
birthday, which would infuse the feeling of giving among them.
Dr Khokhar made students aware of the importance of tree plantation and
stressed that it was the moral duty of every individual to plant trees. He
proposed to make the campus polythene-free this session.
He emphasised that the students must be connected with sapling plantation
and awareness programmes, which would encourage others to realise their
social and moral duty towards environment.

14th November. The mela was inaugurated by the Chairman of the
school, Mr. Bailey Bodhanwala.
Children from Kg to Std III thronged the school premises with their
parents and sibling.
Various games and food stalls were put up the faculty members. Children
from Std IV to XII tapped their feet on popular numbers. They savoured
their favourite food from different stalls and tried their luck in the games
stalls.
It was total participation by the students as well as the teachers. The
proceeds generated from the mela will be contributed towards charity.
The students were overwhelmed with the entire effort. They cheered their
teachers on as they saw them on stage, they laughed boisterously at their
jokes, they sang along during the songs and they applauded the dance
performances.

World Nature Conservation Day is observed on 28th July

JAMMU, July 31: The Calliope School, Doomi celebrated World Nature
Conservation Day in its school premises with great enthusiasm.
On the occasion, school organised essay writing competiton The competition
was held under varied categories namely Category A included students from
4th, 5th and 6th grades and Category B included students from 7th,8th and 9th
grades respectively to sensitize people to global issues. The enthralling
performance of the students left everybody spellbound.
Speaking on the occasion, School Principal, Vatsalaya Swami, who was chief
guest on the occasion, said the main idea behind the programme was to
inculcate proper social sensitivity towards the global issues.
She said such events not only encourage the students to save the nature as well
as animals but also make them understand the importance of keeping the world
green.

ALLAHABAD: Acknowledging that children are the best medium to apprise
their parents and family about traffic rules and regulations, the traffic police,
on Sunday, have chalked out an elaborate educational programme on road
safety.
According to the department, the traffic educational programme will be
undertaken in various city schools and colleges from the week of October
to promote safe commuting.
Traffic inspector, Indrapal Singh told TOI, "The department has chalked out
an elaborate plan and under the road safety awareness project; the cops
would be reaching out to school students albeit in an organised manner."
He added that "The traffic cops will first sensitize school children and
teachers, who in turn will be educating others. The project has been
initiated to make city streets safe for everyone. "We have prepared a list of
schools and other institutes where we would be appealing college
authorities to stress on road safety norms in an attempt to minimise the
cases of road mishaps," he said.
Under the project, traffic police officials ranking from traffic sub-inspector to
superintendent of police apart from educating children about the road
safety norms and traffic awareness would also answer to children's queries.
Singh, meanwhile, said that children from standard Ist to XIIth are being
acquainted with traffic signs, signals and speed limit and they would also
be taught about their importance.

School plays an important role in the personality development of students. This is
the need of the hour as it is essential for the holistic(complete) development of
children and their survival in this competitive world.
swami sant public school organised a personality development programme
workshop on 12 nov 2016. Students from other schools also participated in the
workshop. The workshop was taken by Ms. Sukhmeen Cheema, the head of our
Schools Psychology department.
She started the workshop through multimedia presentation, animated and
energising speech, she stressed that for rising in any field of career and life
communication plays the most important role.
She stressed that communication ability has great relevance for a person's
personality and improvement in this area can provide direction to our youth.
She emphasised on a strong need to build communication skill of the students.
In the end, students were shown a movie clip from the Aamir Khan movie
Lagaan. It depicted how under the British rule, Indians managed to escape the
oppressive tax demanded of them by winning a cricket match. It set an example
for the students to always be hopeful of good things happening in the future and
to achieve the goal by taking on head-on, all the obstacles in the way.
To sum up, it was a well thought-out workshop of motivating the students to
discover themselves.

The two days Regional Level CBSE Science Exhibition with the theme
"Science & Technology for Challenges in Life" was hosted by Essar
International School on 16-17th August. The event saw young
enthusiastic participants from different parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan
putting up 72 participatory exhibits comprising of innovative working
models and investigation based projects.
The programme was inaugurated by Col. Kannan, a dignitory of Essar
Management. He was very impressed by the presentations and
congratulated the participants.
The exhibits by the different schools were indeed eye openers on various
topics related to Green Energy, Innovation in Transport , Communication,
Agriculture, Technology, Bio- diversity, Community Health ,
Environment & Mathematical Modeling.
With an endeavor to promote scientific attitude among budding young
students, this exhibition was one of its kind. As the host team, Essar
School students participated only for the spirit of participation, sharing
and learning and not in the competitive section.
The judges applauded the students for their novel ideas which would help
the world to become a much better place to live in. Mrs. Sunita Matoo,
Principal, Essar International School, thanked all the participating teams
for making this event a success and appreciated their novel projects. She
also summed up the true essence of this exhibition by saying >science
gives us tools of immense power and as with any other form of power, the
misuse is always a possibility. It therefore, becomes incumbent on us to
become judicious and use these wonders with utmost care>.

view the projects which in turn proved to be a learning experience for
