End Corruption

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insafs leader Imran Khan had said in his political manifesto
to eliminate corruption in Pakistan important in your first 90 days as prime
minister. This is a difficult task and was ridiculed by Nawaz Sharif as impractical
and naive.
Despite his tenure, Nawaz Sharif has failed to understand the different methods
and levels of corruption in Pakistan. Imran Khan planned to target specific
government level corruption which is most harmful in a number of enforceable
reforms based on forceful transparency and assertive accountability.
Imran Khan was right to see the fight against corruption as a priority and instead
of criticism that should receive national support for the enormous task ahead.
Corruption in Pakistan is widespread, systemic and entrenched at all levels of
society and government and is an important barrier the country's development.
In a country where peoples basic needs arent fulfilled, Pakistan's main anticorruption body, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NAB) admitted that Rs200
million was lost through corrupt practices at the highest levels of government.
Petty corruption in the form of bribery is prevalent in law enforcement,
procurement and the provision of public services.

Pakistani citizens expect to pay bribes for services such as electricity, health and
education, and obtain relations with the police. In the absence of a democratic
and effective tax administration, corruption can be seen as a form of illegal
taxes in a country where the national budget is inadequate for the delivery of
social services. It is the illegal use of power by politicians and bureaucrats who
deserves the immediate and urgent scrutiny in Pakistan and Imran Khan
recognizes the need to put an end to these predatory practices that waste
resources that should be invested for the good of the country.
Imran Khan has already set an example and proposed that all politicians should
also declare their assets.
Although I dont agree with all policies and proposals for Imran Khan, I believe it
represents the best hope for Pakistan. All other contenders are either corrupt or
unreliable, unlike Imran Khan, a hero to win the 1992 Cricket World Cup as well
as single handedly establishing a free state of the art cancer hospital for the
country thru own money and largely through donations from the nation.
Lets hope regardless of the outcome in the next elections, Pakistan finally gains
a leader worthy of fixing all the ills of this nation and perhaps Kaptaan Imran
Khan is the only hope.
