Election Commission India - Process Flow and FAQs

Form 6
1. Login to Apna CSC.
2. Select Election Commission of India service from the VLE Services screen.

3. Select Form 6 from this screen for Addition of name in Electoral Roll.

4. Empty Form 6 screen will open.

5. Fill the required fields and click on Pay button at the bottom.

6. Payment Screen will open. Enter VLE ID and Wallet Password and press Pay

Now button.

7. After successful payment this screen will open. Press Proceed button to go

to next page.

8. Upload doc and print receipt screen will open. Upload the required

documents, but it is not mandatory. To print the receipt click on Print


Receipt button.
Do note down the Application ID.

To upload the required document select its name then browse the JPG image of that doc and click on
Click to Upload button. After successful uploading of the doc it will display like this. You can remove any
uploaded by clicking on Submit Query of that row.

9. To print the receipt this screen will open. Click on Print Receipt button to

get the print out.

Form 6A
1. Select Form 6A from this screen for Addition of name in Electoral Roll by

an Overseas (Indian National living outside India).

2. Empty Form 6A screen will open.

3. Fill the required fields and click on Pay button at the bottom.

4. Payment Screen will open. Enter VLE ID and Wallet Password and press Pay

Now button.

5. After successful payment this screen will open. Press Proceed button to go

to next page.

6. Upload doc and print receipt screen will open. Upload the required

documents, but it is not mandatory. To print the receipt click on Print


Receipt button.
Do note down the Application ID.

To upload the required document select its name then browse the JPG image of that doc and click on

Form 7
1. Select Form 7 from this screen for Deletion of Name from the Electoral

Roll.

2. Empty Form 7 screen will open.

3. Fill the required fields and click on Pay button at the bottom.

4. Payment Screen will open. Enter VLE ID and Wallet Password and press Pay

Now button.

5. After successful payment this screen will open. Press Proceed button to go

to next page.

6. Upload doc and print receipt screen will open. Upload the required

5. After successful payment this screen will open. Press Proceed button to go

to next page.

5. After successful payment this screen will open. Press Proceed button to go

to next page.

Election Commission of India FAQ


1. What is the process of Form 6?
After the successful submission of Form 6, citizen will receive a unique number on his mobile
phone, which will be used to print the Voters Card from the VRC or CSC Centre (in future).
2. Meaning of each form in layman terms.
Form 6 : To generate new voter ID Card.
Form 6A: To generate voter ID card for overseas citizens of India.
Form 7: For deletion of name from electoral rolls.
Form 8: To modify the name details in electoral rolls.
Form 8A : For transposition of name in electoral rolls.(change of constituency).
3. Any documents to be uploaded? Are they mandatory?
Pan Card/ Ration Card.
No, they are not mandatory to upload but it is advised to upload the documents.
4. What is EPIC number? Why there is an option to fill in applying for new voter ID card?
EPIC number is the Electors Photo Identity Card number or the voter ID number.
There is an option to fill in the EPIC number while applying for new voter ID card, to check that
the citizen is not applying for duplicate voter ID card.

5. Is process same for all the forms?


The SLA and process will differ for each form, though the basic registration process remains the
same.
6. How many days does it take to receive the card (unique number to print the card)?
It will take around 25-30 working days.
7. How can the VLE check the transaction made for ECI?
VLE should note the Transaction ID on the Payment Receipt and can go to the MIS to check or
verify the transaction.
8. What are VRC centers? Are VRC centers present everywhere?
VRC centers are Voters Registration Centers, where the citizens can go and print their Voters ID
card.
9. Will the voters ID card be dispatched to the mentioned address also?
No.
Citizen will receive a unique number on their mobile phone, which will be used to print the
Voters Card from the VRC or CSC Centre (in future).

10. Do the VLEs have to send the hard copies of the forms to the ECI?
No.
11. Is there a provision to track the status of the application?
Not at present. Though, the citizen can go to respective state ECI portal and check the status if
possible.
12. Specifications of documents and photos to be uploaded.
No specifications for now.
13. Can the VLE print the Voters ID card also?
No not at present. This service will soon be active.
14. Can the VLE print the Receipt again after closing the window?
No,
15. What to fill in Part No of Electoral Roll / Serial No in that Part / Transfer Part No?
VLE may go to the respective State EC portal to get these informations.
NOTE: There are states that are not covered under ECI and on selecting them through ECI, they are
redirected to the respective Election Commission websites.
VLEs are advised not to use these states through ECI link, else they will not receive any commission
on that.VLE can go the respective sites of those states and do the registration but no commission
will be given.
