Characteristics:
KAVITAN CONDITIONER is a 10% solution of polyacrylic acid designed for treatment of cavity walls and
removal of smear layer thus increasing adhesion of glass-ionomer cements (KAVITAN PLUS, KAVITAN
PRO, KAVITAN LC) or polycarboxylate cements to hard dental tissues.
Application:
l.) After gentle preparation, apply KAVITAN CONDITIONER on a cotton wool applicator to cavity walls
within the extent of dentine and also enamel, if applicable, for 10 seconds. For deep cavities, it is recommended
to line the pulpal wall in advance with a Ca(OH)2 based cement.
2.) Rinse the entire cavity with a stream of water and dry it out gently with air.
3.) Apply KAVITAN PLUS or another glass-ionomer or polycarboxylate cement as a base or filling.
Indications:
To remove smear layer and enhance adhesion.
Contraindications:
The product is not recommended for use in cases of known allergy to any of its components.
Caution:
Do not overdry dentine. That would reduce adhesion properties of the cement and increase a risk of posttreatment pain!
Warning:
Avoid direct contact of the product with mucous membrane or skin. Suck out excessive liquid from the patients
mouth immediately and rinse with a stream of water. Follow the same procedure in the case of skin
contamination. If eyes were affected, rinse with water and seek medical assistance.
Waste material disposal:
The residue of unused product and contaminated packaging material should be transferred to a company
authorized to dispose of dangerous waste materials.
Storage:
Store in a dry and dark place at 5 C to 25 C, in a well sealed container.
