DO: Pull up wetlands ecosystem PowerPoint presentation.

ASK: What is a wetland ecosystem?
DO: Take 3-4 student responses.
SAY: Wetlands are the link between land and water. To be called a
wetland, an area must be filled or soaked with water at least part of the
year.

SAY: Today we are going to learn about wetlands ecosystems and what
kinds of organisms (living things, plants, animals) can live there. I also
have a really fun activity for you once we understand what a wetland is

ASK: What are some examples of wetland ecosystems?

DO: Take 2-3 student responses.


DO: Show the students wetland or not a wetland slide. For each picture
ask them if it is a wetland or not (the pond, marsh and bog are, the rest
of the photos are not). For each slide, also ask students how they know.

DO: Show students examples of wetlands slide and explain why each
example is a wetland.
ASK: What types of animals or organisms live in wetland ecosystems?
Lets brainstorm together as a class!

DO: Ask students provide examples, list them on the whiteboard.


Pokmon Adaptations Assignment
DO: Ask students to hand out Pokmon Adaptations Assignment to the
class. Once the paper is handed out, go through the assignment with the
students. Then, go through the checklist with the students. Tell students
you have a mind map for them to brainstorm their adaptations first,
instead of putting on the paper first. The students must either show Ms.
Roe or Mrs. Holt their rough draft.
Time to Work on the Assignment
-Give students time to work on the assignment.
Closure (Total Time: 2 minutes)
SAY: Okay, Grade 4s and 5s, it is now time to clean up your materials
and get ready for P.E.
