TOPIC: The Country Code
SKILLS: speaking, listening , reading
TIME : 45 minutes
to introduce the new vocabulary related to rules ( countryside , put out a fire, drop litter, make a
noise , grass )
LESSON OBJECTIVES/OUTCOMES:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

Aims :-to disrupt the Ss from the previous class and to make them feel comfortable and confident about
the English class.

Procedure: T uses an ice breaker. She tells Ss they are going to play a game. T puts some objects on the
desk : a ball, some carrots, a dog, some meat and a loaf of bread. Two Ss come in front of the desk. One
of them asks the other one object and he gives it. The class have to guess what shop are the children at.
Ex:
Can I have a ball?
Here you are !
Thank you !
Youre at the toyshop !

Activity 2 : Homework checking :
Aims: - to correct mistakes

Procedure : T reminds Ss that last time they talked about adverbs of frequency. Then she checks the
homework (ex 3/33) and Ss correct their mistakes, if necessary.

Activity 3 : Lead in
Aims : - to introduce the Ss to the new topic country code (rules )
- to develop students speaking skills
Procedure: T asks Ss to tell some rules that we have to respect when we go to the park.T tells Ss they are
going to talk about country code.

Activity 4: Presentation

Aims: - to introduce the new vocabulary related to country code ( countryside , put out a fire,
drop litter, make a noise , grass )
- to develop students speaking skills
Procedure: T shows Ss some pictures with country codes and has the Ss repeat after her. Then she plays
the CD with the same words and the Ss repeat after the CD. Then , T writes and translates the words on
the flip chart and asks Ss to write them in their notebooks.

Activity 4 : Presentation
Aims: to introduce must mustnt
Procedure: T shows a Power Point presentation with 2 examples. With the first one : You must put out
the fire! She explains that we use must to say what we are obliged to do. The second sentence is : You
mustnt drop litter! . T explains that mustn't is the short form of must not and we use it to say what
we are not allowed to do. T asks Ss to give another examples and then to write everything in their
notebooks.

Activity 5 Practice
Aim: -to practice the new vocabulary

Activity 6 Practice
Aims :- to develop students speaking skills

Procedure : Ss, in groups of three do ex. 3 page 41. Ss have to complete the sentences with must or
mustnt and match them with the right pictures. T checks their answers.
Activity 7 : Practice
Aims: to practice the new vocabulary
to develop Ss speaking skills
Procedure : Ss come to the smart board and have to match the rules with the place -at home or at school
( ex. 4 page 41 ).

Aims : to practice the new vocabulary

Procedure : Ss work in pairs. One says a rule and the other has to name the place ( at home or at school ).
Then the Ss change roles. T monitors.
